Lovely poem and card (posty).
She wanted to sleep on the couch after her fluids a couple nights this past week. I should have just put a towel there and let her sleep.
I miss giving my soft & fluffy Bubba a goodnight hug and kiss on the head.
I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

Cat Heaven
Did you ever wonder where all good cats go when they die? The answer is easy. They go to "Cat Heaven". But where is "Cat Heaven"?
Once more the answer is easy. Cats go to the same heaven good people go. Cats need the love and affection of people and people need the love and affection of cats.
Both species are the children of God and thus both are worthy of a special place in heaven.
Of course, heaven is not the home of just cats and people. Heaven is as was Eden, a special place of love, beauty, divesity, color, song, dance, caring, fun, and where all of God's children live in perfect harmony for ever and ever.
Be strong Bubbah. :-*

My 14yo Caledonia no longer jumps up anywhere, she claws and pulls. This is hell on my thighs when she wants lap!! I've taken to picking her up of late.
But it's a reminder that her numbered days are drawing to a close, and it fills me with much sadness. So I commiserate with your loss in a close way.
I'm not looking forward to my loss, so I'm thinking of you with yours.

Lovely poem, Sir Funk.
Focus on the time you have now with your pets and on the positive moments. When reality comes you can't ignore it, but negative thoughts of what might happen don't compare to what's happening now.
Please also see Sennebec's thread, as I am not the only one who said goodbye this past weekend: to susan and bubba... from sennebec and erin.
I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

Two of my family cats died last year. One was 12 years old(smokey) and was so old it could not even walk and one was more than 10 years(lost count), Pot Pet and her health just deteriorate. Day by day she became skinnier and at last she had left us.
As for this year my Max and Ina had 5 lovely kittens but only 2 survived. It's like reincarnation of those two cats that had just passed away.
Still busy being a mom &&

Yesterday (Saturday) was the 1-week-without-my-Bubba date.
I leave to go somewhere and there's nobody on the step happy to see me on my way. I come back and there's nobody on the step happy to see me return. I come outside after supper and there's nobody on the step happy to see me because she's about to get her daily grooming session.  Yes, Bubba really liked to lay on that step during the warm weather and gave happy meows anytime she saw me.) We realized that there's no need to fill the food bowl in the garage, because there's nobody there to eat out of it - Skittles comes in the house to eat - and the food would end up being eaten by any stray cats or miscellaneous animals passing through. We still have water and a litter box out there, but no food. Oh, and Bubba's favorite cardboard box to sleep in (pictured) is still out there, because Skittles likes to sleep in there, too.
Skittles enjoys her post-supper grooming sessions, yes, and enjoys our attention. She gets pets and love and is sometimes there when I leave/return. Still, things are different without my Bubba.
I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

As I'm told, things will get better, but it sure doesn't feel like it right now.
All the happy moments with Bubba were worth it, though.

Since I change my own oil on occasion I have one, too (but no kitty sleeps in my box - sigh).
Maybe it's time for me to visit some aminal* shelters for an unwanted fur child.

Status : Offline | Oh Susan, I'm just so sorry to hear that Bubba passed away. I know what it's like and people who don't have animals themselves don't always realise that you can love them just as much as a child.
Our cat Narji is 15 and a half years old and has CRC, he copes well and has half a pill each day and an injection once per month which keeps him going but to look at him you really wouldn't realise that there was anything wrong at all. Think we were lucky enough to catch the disease early as it's going on two years now since he was diagnosed but having said that, we know that the day will come when we'll have to say goodbye. He's lying here next to my chair as I'm typing and purring and "talking" away as usual - a real chatterbox - and I often wonder how we'll ever replace him when the time comes, but one thing is for sure, I couldn't bear to be without a furry little animal in my life.

The expression, "Gee, Big, I dig!" was a line from one of the old 60's minor cartoon series. The lead character was nicknamed "Big" by his ever-faithful sidekick. When the lead character wanted his faithful sidekick to do something, the sidekick would say, "Gee, Big, I dig!" in agreement.
I don't have much "bling" to flash, Speck. All those heavy gold chains and medallions - no, never got into that. I don't even wear a watch or rings.

Mark, funny that you would recognize the brand from that cropped picture. I've still got the full picture on my computer, but it mostly just shows the table ... nothing more about the box other than what you already see.

Still, I know how it feels to lose a beloved pet too :'(
