Terry, that was a really poignant story about your Foldie kitty. Thank you.

BTW, of course my wife got the cat when we finally went our separate ways. She was a after all Christmas gift from the heart and not a piece of joint property to be battled over in divorce court.

I sincerely apologize for the oversight. You did mention you had bought the kitty as a gift.

Fancy launching a product with a name that sounds like wee. Didn't they check that out first?

It's those wacky Japanese up to their old tricks again, Caroline. I remember when I was little, the first Japanese imports were coming out. They had such wacky, weird names like Datsun and Toyota:

"What the heck is that?!"

"It's a Datsun."

"Say whut?"

"A Datsun."

Turns out that the Japanese like to come up with names they think may sound like an American product - not a Japanese one. But Americans still look at each other and say "What?! It has to be Japanese, with that name."

Of course, Datsun became Nissan (although Datsun was always a Nissan product, I believe the last years of Datsun-named vehicles imported into America was 1983. I still have my 1980 Datsun pick-up).

I guess "Wii" should be glad they didn't name it Poop. :

Here's my photo contribution; it was in today's NY Times:

It was taken by a photographer named Slim Aaron, who passed away yesterday.  According to his obituary, he wasn't a typical paparazzi.  His modus operandi was to get invited to a swanky party and mingle.  If the opportunity arose, he would take a quick photo, put away the camera and go back to enjoying the party.

Who knows how many parties he attended where no one famous showed up or where he couldn't snap a photo because it would kill the mood.  But on New Year's Eve in 1957, he managed to get an invitation to a party at an LA restaurant and hit the jackpot.  From left to right, Clark Gable, Van Heflen, Gary Cooper and Jimmy Stewart.

I couldn't figure out what "jarrah" meant, so I looked it up. It's an Australian wood that, when treated, looks like Honduras mahogany.

But that isn't what I think you meant. Jensen Jarrah is a brand name for cool outdoor furniture, sold in the U.S., and of course, Australia.

From the Jensen Jarrah website:

"Jarrah trees grow only in the south-west of Australia, so only a small, discerning number of people can own Jensen Jarrah furniture."

Oooo! Touch you, Caroline!

Ya learn sumthin' new everyday.

On another note: Cool pic, Anthony! Mr. Aaron certainly had a unique way of capturing candid moments.

Caroline, I heard that if you put moth balls in the flower beds cats don't like the smell and it may help from the cat peeing in your flowers.

Yes.  A delightful photograph Anthony.  Men look so splendid dressed up.

Mark.
Yep. Jensen Jarrah.  Yep. cost a small fortune.  Also is totally comfortable to sit on without cushions due to the superior design.

And before we could afford that, we had a plastic setting from Target.

I love the picture, Anthony.  Mmmm.  They do look decorative, don't they?
