So, did you like Syberia 1 or Syberia 2, and why?? I personally liked Syberia 1 better; it was more steampunkish and not as fantasy oriented as the second one was. And it had cooler levels...Spoiler Alertand nothing important got destroyed (like the train coach, all the contents, Oscar...)

The second one - all that running back and forth in the first one (the university, especially) drove me over the edge.

I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

I liked the first one better.
Locations were more interesting in Syberia 1.
Characters were more interesting in Syberia 1.
Had that great song sung by Helena the ex-opera singer.

And Syberia 2 had those annoying little toot toot people that couldn't speak plain English.

And Syberia 2 had that annoying ice village where I couldn't tell what I was looking at.

As far as I am concerned, this is just one long game.  I think the division is absolutely artificial; the game was probably issued in two parts for the usual bogus "marketing" reasons.  If the game had been put all together on a DVD, as it should have been, I don't think people would be finding any fundamental differences between different parts of the game.

Not really; I mean, of course it's one big story, but so are the first six Star Trek films. That doesn't mean each of the original six aren't different films. They ARE different, whether they tell one big story or not. Same with "Syberia"...sure it's one big story, but it IS in two parts. All this thread is about is which one did you like better, and which one did you enjoy more. The games were very much different; the controls/menu are slightly different, the graphics are different, and the look and feel of each game is also vastly different. "Syberia 1" was kinda steampunk, while "Syberia 2" had a lot of fantasy feel in there. The differences abound...so this thread is valid. LOL

Syberia 1 was better, hands down. Syberia 2 felt flat to me, didn't have the same magic the first game did.

That's why I made another thread asking for a list of steampunk games.

I thought they were good games and I enjoyed them a lot but that wasn't really my kind of story. I kind of thought that Kate was fighting a loosing battle from the start.  I like to see my charaters acomplish something in the end.

Syberia 2.  It finalized the story.

Though I loved the ending in 1, ( just got to me for some reason
) I have to say I enjoyed 2 better. And I hated the university stuff in 1, just kind of bored me.
But these games do not go into a favorite list for me though enjoyable and worth the play I dont think either were what I would call GREAT games. But that just my oinion.

I miss the option 'didn't enjoy these games' in the poll. I finished Syberia 1, but can't say I enjoyed it very much.

Well...that's because this wasn't asking if you like it or not, period...this is about which one was better, in your opinion.

I'm kinda surprised everyone hates the Barrockstadt level...I loved that one!! It was my all-time favorite in the entire game, and it was the only one I really felt emotional about leaving. LOL

Shame on me then barging in on a topic for fanboys only.  :
What about people then who (dis)liked both games equally?

I enjoyed both games but liked Syberia 2 the best, the running back and forth in the first game was so annoying it sort of took the edge of it a bit for me.

And then there are those of us who haven't played either game and have no opinion about them one way or the other.

Start your own poll.  :

In that case, you're obviously not qualified to vote, just as I can't vote on which "Star Quest" game I liked best, because I've never played them. Sheesh, people!! I figured people in the two cases above would be able to figure out "what about them" on their own, because it's kinda...you know...OBVIOUS.

I thought the running back and forth was worse in the second game.

Hey I liked it. I liked all the levels in Syberia 1. I can't say I got all emotional about leaving it though.
