Like you didn't see that coming.
I think your right. Most of them all had great stories but maybe a little short for a movie.

Status : Online | What's "Space Quest," and who's Roger Wilco?? That's a name I made up for myself for another forum I'm with...and now I see it's already taken!! LOL
If "Space Quest" is a good, futuristic, SPACEY, not "gritty and realistic" space game, then heck yeah it would make a good movie!! I'm sick of how sci-fi is today...not very "sci-fi-ish" in my opinion. People in space with faster-then-light-travel using PROJECTILE weapons...come on!! In their effort to make sci-fi "realistic," they just make it seem ridiculous. Any self-respecting sci-fi game/show/movie has to have energy weapons. Those are more realistic then faster-then-light travel, btw...

I love Wikipedia.
Jennifer 8-)
P.S. Amber: Journeys Beyond would make a great movie. So would Morpheus and Syn-Factor/Symbiocom.

In my mind's eye, though, it probably still would be...I loved "Galaxy Quest," but I took most of that pretty seriously, as a cool space adventure. I'm gonna have to look into this game...

Yes, but it would be a one reel movie (short) - maybe a part of a Twilight Zone anthology?

If I were making ANY movie, I would hire ILM to do EVERYTHING!! Those guys are the best in the business. And take it from someone who's going to college to get into film...they are the best.

Maybe, but they're no good at sandwiches. You'd do better to hire a real catering firm for that bit.
loved "Galaxy Quest," but I took most of that pretty seriously, as a cool space adventure. This has me worried. The writers of this movie tried very hard to make it a comedy. And they succeeded par excellence. It's NOT serious. It's freakin' bloody hilarious. Now stop trying to be ubercool and grown up and just relax and let yourself LAUGH so hard you wet your pants for cryin' out loud..... aim to be normal.  or at least pretend)

That and better Ixupi effects. Those were a weak point of the game, I feel.
As for games that I'd like to see turned into movies...
The whole Gabriel Knight series (narg, GK2 is very nearly a movie already!), and perhaps GK4 if there ever is one...
I would definitely like to see a good movie based on the Zork series, including the famous house, the magic sword, and the lantern. I even have a few ideas that might work well for it, including which actor I'd like to see in one of the two parts that I imagine (John Rhys-Davies as archaeologist, a main character and the instigator of the adventure), and two minor scenes... ^^;;;
Maybe something based on the Ultima games...
And finally an adaptation of Half-Life.
(I know, the last two aren't adventure games, but they're still games that I'd like to see movies of. )
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*ahem*
Sorry.

I doubt it will have all the different elements that the game by the same name had.
A Sanitarium movie would be neat. All those strange kids, not mention gooshy, squishy puzzles = one weird movie.
Please proofread your posts carefully to see if you any words out.

Sanitarium might make an even better episodic TV series (assuming it was handle right).
In addition to the original game content, there are an endless number of other alternate realities our forgetful hero could encounter for as long as fresh ideas kept coming. I think it would be great if treated a bit like the latest version of Dr. Who with a nice mix of drama, mystery, action and adventure along with some horror and sci-fi elements and a good dose of humor to round things out.
Instead of time travel as the primary device, Sanitarium The TV Series would employ the infinite possibilities of the human imagination as the vehicle to take us to an amazing array of fascinating times, places / dimensions. The Doctor would instead be the patient forever in search of his true identity while encountering who knows what? Perhaps a small cast of interesting recurring characters could also be developed to provide some familiar sidekicks and even lend a little romantic touch here and there.
Cheers, Terry
