Probably.
They had a chance of giving us a different ending that wouldn't have cost them that much money but they decided [spoiler midtext]not to give us an ending at all.

I prefer a film or book which, when I get to the end, I have to sit and think about it, or discuss it with my friends. Still life did just that. I'm kind of glad they ran out of time/funds.

I didn't like the ending in Black Mirror, not because it was sad, but to me it seemed illogical; it was physically impossible for Samuel to have committed at least some of the murders in that game.
In Still Life, the central question of who the killer is is not resolved, so this could also be considered a fatally flawed ending, if it was an ending. However, Still Life is different. Still Life is not a computer game. It is half of a computer game, the first half, and therefore has no ending at all, good, bad or indifferent.
As was said above, it feels like they just ran out of disk space and just quit making the game at that point. I don't believe this is actually the case of course, but if it were true, this is how the game would still have wound up.

Shany; It's not my conversation, but I surely did not read any type of insult in any of the people who responded to you.
Papabrody; thanks for your honesty, but I must now go sulk and be lonely. As long as we're discussing this whole thing, did anyone else enjoy Post Mortem more after playing Still Life? :-[

Yeah, I deleted my replies after seeing that.
@Shed22: I was insulted because instead of answering my points, the person who replied claimed I am too young to have the same taste he has in endings. But since he deleted his posts, I deleted mine.

Please have some consideration for other people and use the SPOILER TAGS instead of casually revealing the identity of the killer in an adventure game that isn't even mentioned in the title of this thread!

Status : Online | I just finished still life yesterday. I don't know if this is a common thought amongst those who played it and whether I'm stating the obvious or not, but here is my conclusion as to who the killer is, although I still don't know the motives.
Spoiler Alert
I am pretty sure it's Richard who runs the art gallery. My reasons are:
1. He makes a hero of Ackerman when describing the paintings. That could be because he doesn't know the full facts, but I suspect not.
2. He looks a little like Mark Ackerman don't you think?
3. He gives a lingering, creepy stare to victoria at the end of each conversation before finally turning his head back to his computer. He looks a little menacing imo.
4. Biggest clue for me? He's not present at the gallery at the very same time Victoria is looking for clues, which is the very same time the killer is now at the bridge with Mia.
It is simplicity itself my dear just adventurers. 8-)

Anyone else, even Richard, would have killed her one of the two times he could have (The roof or in the apartment) Also, her tremendous shock when she saw who it was could only be the result of recognizing her Dad.

Status : Online | Hi.
I'm playing the Game for the third time, now. And i got a Question:
How to get the 3 last Video-Sequences?!? Didn't i find everything in the game? After the Credits [spoiler midtext]shes just sitting in this damn Jacuzzi and nothing more...is that all? Are these the 3 Videos from the 3 Chapters you (should be able to) can play at the HP? (Page don't works for me...don't know why. -_-)
For the Question "Who's the Bad Guy?": For sure! Spoiler Alert It's Richard! Because he's not to be reached in the most important moments, except at the phone , he praises Ackermann a lot!, he's the first one that realised the crimescene at the galerie even though Victoria is the cop. By the way, he just looks like a killer...^^ Why he didn't kill her? Just think about it! She's his girlfriend and they just mentioned earlier at the phone, that they had a lot of fun together, i wouldn't kill her either. Ackermann even hadn't killed her Grandfather in the past....The torments of the survivors, maybe?
But wait! The final Painting of the "Prague-series" should have been him dead and Victoria to his feet.....hmm very difficult. *sigh* .....back to brainstorming!
/edit: Is the webside absolute down, or do they just change its appearence?

And i liked it a lot, it fits the story (and the whole game^^). But the last Puzzle (with the Words from these Paintings) was realy stupid. i needed a whole lot of time to realise, that i have to click into the "not yet done"-paintings. :
/edit: so nobody knows anything about the 3 remaining Vids? Or the HP an when(/if) it will be back?
