i presume you're talking about the animated smileys like the roll eyes or the cry smiley etc? those are animated gifs, and they shouldn't have any special settings in order to show properly... are you stopping (or is there anything stopping) your browser when a page is loaded? clicking on stop on explorer will make the smileys stop animating... try checking them out in a different way too: copy the url http://www.justadventure.com/public_html/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/rolleyes.gif and paste it in a new explorer window... you should see the roll eyes smiley animated there
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Tools->Internet Options->Advanced Tab->scroll down to multimedia->Look if your "Play animations in web pages" is unchecked.

Status : Online | Thanks Aya & Ivinia for your suggestions - unfortunately, I'm still not having any luck with the animated gifs. :-/
Aya -
Yes, I usually let the web page load completely without stopping it. Also, I copied & pasted the rolleyes.gif url in a blank web page, but the eyes are not rolling...
Ivinia -
I went to internet options, to the "advanced" tab and scrolled down to the "multimedia" section like you suggested, and my "Play animations in web pages" is checked on...(I was hoping that was the problem - it would make sense!)
Do you have any other recommendations? Thanks for taking the time to help me!!

Status : Online | I just solved my problem! Yay! [smiley=silly.gif]
I can now see this smiley above moving!!
Just in case you're interested, here's what I found:
Okay, my internet provider allows me to have "high speed" connection (I'm still using a dial-up connection rather than DSL, or those other cable options out there) by choosing an option of fully loading images, or not. I had my preferences set to "Faster Page Loading" which doesn't fully download all the images on a web page. I played around with it just now because of what Aya said about possibly stopping the page before all the images were loaded. I set it at "Better Image Quality" and had all the images load completely, and that's when the smilies came alive!
Thanks again, -Wren-
