Deleted UserHey all,

The 'Bone here with another freshly fried topic for you to stew over!

Discussions over TLJ2 led me to debate over the most obnoxious game character in the universe, Flipper, from the original. Now THERE was someone I was glad to see die. Call me cold-hearted, but if April had a gun herself I'd have shot both his arms off too!

I know people havvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvrooooom! Glottis and Gabriel (y'all) issues in this forum (I love the big GF freak) but I want to know of YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE CHARACTER in an Adventure game.

Seriously, the more insulting you can be towards him/it the funnier it will be. Descriptions of possible death even better - a long as it's humourous and not too scary!

ONE RULE - this thread is purely about TASTE. Because someone hates someone you like doesn't mean anything, so no complaints. Just talk about how you wanted to garrot Mosely as he ate those sweets in GK3, instead...

Deleted UserMy answer will prove just how different we all are.  Unlike monkeybone, I liked Flipper from TLJ.  My least favorite character is MoMo from Syberia.  He irritated me no end.

i liked momo a lot, and flipper (i really liked him actually). but i thought momos voices sounded a bit too much like kates (same voice over artist maybe??)

but glotis near ruined the GF for me.
Its boring, there isn't any action at all. You walk around picking up things and using them with other items. You walk around and use the item on something. Walking around and talking to people is really lame, what about some shooting or something~APuddleduck&&

I couldn't possibly choose. The most irritating one is the one in the game I'm currently playing.

The parrot in Starship Titanic

Stauf

The want-some-rye guy

Overall I liked Glottis, but he did get to me when I was trying to solve some puzzle or other and he kept making those automobile noises.

The airplane guy in Nine

Nilo--Tex Murphy's landlord in The Pandora Directive--- I kept looking for a weapon in the inventory whenever he was around....

Deleted UserI liked Glottis!

Here's a classic: What about Cedric from King's Quest 5? Actually I didn't mind him too much, but I know he's more or less universally hated...

Glottis DID ruin Grim Fandango for me. :
(BTW I hate screaming kids too) While I won't indulge Monkeybone with fantasy descriiptions of "doing" Glottis, I do wish there was a Glottis patch that would give you a little sound mixer so you could stick his track way down at the bottom of the pile.  Yikes, he was loud. And annoying. I still don't believe that Manny would have ever really hung with such a dolt.

I have to say that Momo made my skin crawl.  I often wanted to just choke him, but I guess thats a mark of good writing when a fictional character in a computer game can be so annoying.

ALL the NPC's of "Lure of Temptress" are obnoxious. They distract you, block your way when trying to enter a door, among other interesting things. I  really hatetd them and try the command "give peasant poisoned water" a lot!!! Of course, It never worked. What a shame!! >

The want-some-rye guy

No way!! The most memorable line in recent memory

Want some rye? 'course you do!

Characters I recently disliked are either Oscar or Kate Walker. Probably Oscar although the "no need to go down there" line really got me on my nerves.

Also Ellen from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream was very annoying.

I would say that, even tough the overall game is nice, all the player-commanded characters are annoying. They seemed to be under the effect of valium...

My Most Aggravating Character Award goes to "Lucky" Jake Masters from Heart of China. He just takes the cake. I'm sure a good dictionary will have his picture under "tactless". What makes the whole situation fun is that he's the character you control in the game! Keeping him out of trouble is probably more than half of the work

I forgot my sig.

I didn't say he didn't. I just said he was extremely aggravating
I found the concept pretty unique, playing a character whose big mouth is his biggest enemy.

- the post office woman in GK2. But that's probably just because the actor was so unbelievably bad, it was painful to watch.
- many of the characters from Larry 7, because this game was so stupid and sexist it sickens me that I actually finished it.
Feel free to ignore this post.

I thought LSL 7 was fun... sure it was sexist, but that's like complaining the sky is blue
It wouldn't be LSL otherwise!

The most irritant character I've ever seen in a game can be find in "Jack Orlando".  And -guess what?- it WAS Jack Orlando.  He didn't only looked stupid, but was quite stupid too, and really obnoxious.
(Oh, I really hated that game  >
