Status : Offline | Just for completeness sake, I'll add this poll here in the ratings section. Curious to see how many people have actually played this game.
Largo Winch: Empire Under Threat gets an 8/10 from me.
Highs:
- interesting storyline, terrifically built up, cool twists, fantastically narrated
- some good puzzles (rather easy though, not a problem for me, but people who like their games tough, stay clear of this one)
- fun minigames (especially the hacking was a nice challenge and fun!)
- turn-based combat (though one had me tearing out my hair for a moment. )
- very cinematic feel (eg moving cameras, camera standpoints)
- was able to convey the appeal of the comics and tv show into a computer game, and an adventure game at that!
- great music!
Lows:
- Very linear, most of the times there's only two or three things to do.
- Short (save games show gameplay time, finished it in 10 hours, and I'm not really that good. ) Still, there are not many cut scenes (some nice ones though), so most of this is gameplay.
- some of the character animation is a bit dodgy. Differs from location to location and from character to character, as some of it, esp Largo, is certainly good enough.
- uneven voice acting, most of it is fine, but some less important characters are not so good. Also, none of the actors of the tv show appear here, which is a pity
Overall, a game with a very high fun factor!
