too bad you don't like survival horror (aitd), otherwise you'd have some really good selections!
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Silent Hill 2 pops in my mind - there's a little bit of action involved like AitD, but it's more of a psychological horror game definitely worth trying! [smiley=scared.gif]

silent hill 1 & 3 as well as kuon also score pretty high in that area

Agreed. Although I should state that Fatal Frame was retitled 'Project Zero' in some countries. Little known fact, but it meant I couldn't find a copy for years

Keep in mind I never finished it. But I wouldn't exactly call it "horror", although what else...suspense/thriller/mystery...hmm. Parts of it are unsettling. Quite like I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream.

You're right, I just read Randy's review and it's definitely a cartoon comedy. What was I thinking.

Status : Offline | i am kinda with crapstorm here ()... i wouldn't say sanitarium is silly (plus it's one of the best adventures ever), but i wouldn't consider it horror... it's horror is more towards the "riding the bullet" type, ie gruesome but light and "comicey"... it does pretty good in that area that's for sure

too bad you don't like survival horror (aitd), otherwise you'd have some really good selections! Oh, I like survival horror as much as any kind. I just DISPISE aitd. I think I should mention, though, that my only experience with it is 1) playing aitd1 in first grade, getting killed over and over by the thing that comes through the window until I managed to block it, then immiediatly getting killed by the zombie thing from the basement hatch, and recently downloading aitd2, beating up the guy with the machine gun (I figured out how to hurt things! w00t!) But getting kill every time by all the other guys in the area. Maybe I'll give the series another shot, aitd1 wasn't so bad.... Other survival horror I like. Resident Evil 2 was great stuff. I also love the Silent Hill series, though it's not very "survival-y". There are some other games that can be horrific while not being horror as a whole. "X-com" is a good example, when you first find the "chryssalid" aliens. Also, I was thinking more towards "Adventure" horror games when I made this topic (though everything else is fine). Sorta why I made it in the adventure games section. I'm going to go look up Sanitarium and I have no mouth but I must scream now.
