LadyKestrel: Jep, I've only just gotten The Dark Eye, but it surely lies on the top of games to play! I have read about some technical difficulties in XP, so I'll have to look into that some more before I start. :-/

Right now I'm playing Still Life again while waiting for Barrow Hill and Keepsake to appear in my mailbox. Oddly, I have developed an intense desire to play Drowned God again, for no good reason. I haven't seen it in a long time and remember thinking that this would have been a great game to play in my youth (Except we didn't have computers in my youth! [smiley=grin.gif]). Thus far I've had no luck finding it. [smiley=sad.gif]

So many good games......not enough time.

I have Dreamfall & Paradise on pre-order. I do as well.
I'm playing Egypt 2 - and I love this game!
I'm on the last chapter - but I do have Egypt 3 in the mail and I know it's as good as this one.

I liked it, too, and especially enjoyed the little fluttering beetle in the Main Menu.
I kept moving the mouse over and over that little bug just to see it flutter!

That's good to know because I just happen to have a perfect copy of Black Dahlia sitting right here next to my WinXP machine.

Whoa, look at that! Whatever happened to your promise that you would IGNORE the cowardly, petty, prejudiced forum troll? The nasty, immature, spiteful pest you never seek out or instigate contact with unless she responds to one of your posts? Turning a new leaf, sweetheart?

The game so far was excellent! Complex and intriguing story, fun gameplay (including some challenging mini games), great characters and nice puzzles. Why oh why do they suddenly have to insert a fight that is at least ten times harder as the ones before it! It's two against four (well three actually, after Largo's special move) stronger opponents. Really don't understand how anyone can get past it without some sort of cheat. :-/
Just opened a topic on Largo Winch in the hints section, to avoid cluttering this topic and posting spoilers here. Please, please, someone help me!

Status : Online | @colpet Sorry, I haven't responded earlier, but I must have read past your post or you edited it later on, because I know I've read your response, but can't remember that about Dosbox?
Yes, Dosbox interprets D as your cd drive by default. You have to use the mount command to change it. Internally, Dosbox always handles D as cd drive and you can only reference to it by using D. I'm a little rusty with Dosbox and don't have it currently installed. There should be something about it in the help file. I could find out later, but right now I have to catch some sleep.
I re-read your reply and I think what you need to know right now is that drive D within Dosbox is NOT your drive D, but only a replacement for a generic cd drive!! The mount command is used to change this D to your real cd drive.
It could be mount d:\ f:\ but I'm pretty sure it was different...I think there was a specific command for cd drives, maybe a parameter -cd or a completely different command. Because mount is used to change any directory on any of your drives to C - because C in Dosbox points to the place the executable file for your game is located at. Again, C in Dosbox is not your C.

All in all, great game! 8-) Also created a poll in the Members' Adventure Game Ratings, you know for the two or three people out there who have actually played this game. (btw, is it just me, or are not many people voting in that forum anymore lately? No new polls for a while either. :-/)
That means I'll finally be able to dive into Zork Grand Inquisitor.
Also, I'll start CSI 1 on the side, just to have something else to play when being stuck in ZGI.

if it's the mount command, here's how it works:
mount [dosbox_drive_letter] [real_drive_letter]:\
dosbox_drive_letter is the letter you want dosbox to use for the drive you're mounting... real_drive_letter is the actual letter that drive has in windows... for example, if you want to mount your d: drive as c: in dosbox you would type: mount c d:\ if your cd drive's letter is f: but a game needs it as d: you would type: mount d f:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl (the rest are used only for cdroms)
note how the first letter doesn't have the :\, but the second letter does

And now I know what I meant earlier...if a game needs D as cd drive you have to change your drive to that letter. I somehow confused "one game" with "all of Dosbox" regarding the internal handling of drives... :
