Currently playing:
I'm playing Largo Winch: Empire Under Threat at the moment. So far so good! Fun story, strong characters, nice puzzles, high production values and smooth gameplay. 8-)
After this I'll start on Zork Grand Inquisitor, or I might start it already and play both games next to each other. Right now, my computer still requires some tweaking to run ZGI perfectly, but that shouldn't take too long anymore.
Up next
Up next, I'll be in for a change and might try the first CSI. I heard it's a short, easy game which is good as I'll feel I'm making some quick progress to my huge yet-to-play pile of games. Another possibility is Runaway. Might be fun to actually play and finish that one before the sequel comes out.
Then again, I just got lucky on ebay and picked up a copy of The Dark Eye, in perfect condition. I've been hearing sooo much about this game, I really want to get into it as soon as possible.

I guess technically I'm still playing 80 Days, since I still have it installed. But it's kind of on the back burner. And Until Uru is also installed, though I'm not playing it regularly.

I'll be interested to hear what you think about The Dark Eye when you play it, I picked up a copy awhile back, but never got around to it myself. It sounds truly unique.
I'm in between adventure games at the moment, having recently finished up the entertaining Scratches. I'll probably continue on with the tour of puzzle oriented adventures I started with Timelapse and Shivers. Not quite sure what that will be -- probably between Dark Fall, Rhem, or Shivers 2.
Almost forgot about Barrow Hill! That changes everything. I'll definitely go with that when it arrives.

Since completing Syberia 2 late last year, I have played no other recent PC adventures (unless you consider Beyond Good & Evil to be one). Instead, I have been on a marathon SP RPG replay binge that has included (so far):
Anachronox
Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 with both EPs
Deus Ex (GOTY Edition)
Divine Divinty
Fallout 1 & 2
Planescape: Torment
Star Wars: KOTOR
Right now, I am replaying Icewind Dale 1 (and the Heart of Winter EP) with Icewind Dale 2 to follow shortly.
Others I have on tap are Arx Fatalis, Beyond Divinity, Gothic 1 & 2, KOTOR 2, Morrowind with both EPs, System Shock 2 and Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption.
After all those plus numerous mods for Neverwinter Nights, I will play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and a ton of mods for the first time before delving back into AGs and several other genres that have gone neglected this year.
Cheers, Terry

No, seriously, the only game I've been playing is The Sims 2. I just got the Nightlife expansion a month ago and will soon get the Family Fun Stuff pack that was released this week (overpriced piece of **** that you know I gotta have anyway).
I'm kind of missing my adventures, though, but I'm starting to get hyped up for Dreamfall. I was thinking of replaying an 'old favorite,' but I don't know which one.
I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

I started Tony Tough , but stopped playing as well awhile back. In my case it was because I was disappointed with the game, and also I'd been slowly getting fed up with third person adventuring and its various quirks, and this pushed me over the edge. I had been looking forward to the game, it had been billed by reviewers as the glory days of LucasArts come again, and an extremely funny game. And I'm a pushover for animated adventure games anyway. What a disappointment. I've never seen a game released internationally that had humor that worked well when translated into English, and this was unfortunately no exception. Not just mostly unfunny dialogues here, but long, mostly unfunny dialogues. And really unintitutive puzzles, even for a comic adventure. Reminded me a bit of Discworld, except instead Discworld was hilarious and I kept playing it because of that. Not so with Tony Tough. A pity, because it's environment and graphics were what I love to see in a third person game.

Status : Online | As my sig lets you know, I'm currently playing AGON. It's pretty interesting, but nothing spectacular. Every time there's something that really impresses me about it, there's something frustrating or tedious to counter it. I've already have several games on the backburner afterwards.  aemonica - because it just looked interesting, and Dark Fall - a recommendation after I couldn't stop praising Scratches.
As far as non-adventures go, I'm playing Silent Hill 2 right now as well. I just recently played the first one since several people convinced me that the series would really appeal to me, ahd they were incredibly right. Such interesting gameplay, and a storyline that rivals the films of David Lynch, David Cronenberg or early John Carpenter in disturbing atmosphere.
I usually have more games on the go at one time, at least one strategy or RPG title to go with these, but I've been pretty busy. I graduate in a few weeks, and I'm also trying to start up my own agency, so time is getting sparse. I do plan on getting a new computer over the summer, though. I'll be getting games like Oblivion, Rise of Legends, and HOMM V over the summer if I do.

Ah, such a fun game, and probably some of the most unique inventory based puzzles I've ever experienced, especially the use of spells.

I have Scratches ready and waiting to play, so I'm kinda anxious to get Syberia over with (I do think Syberia is a beautiful and remarkable game, however).

Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble (by all means, play this gem!!) Day of the Tentacle Deathgate The Dig the Feeble Files Journey to the Center of the Earth Last Express Loom CD Riddle of Master Lu (one of my absolute favorites, how many times am I going to repeat that?) Tony Tough and the Night of the Roasted Moths Torin's passage

will probably be replaying silent hill 1 on the weekend, to get in the mood for the movie! i saw the trailer and was (pleasantly) surprised by how many elements from the first game i saw! (well, except of course that harry is not the main character......)
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

| Deleted User | @Colpet. I recommend playing Alice for two reasons. It's an exploration fest: discovering 53 playing cards and enjoying the animations. But although some cards are tricky and cleverly hidden, you don't need to collect them. You can leave the museum anytime without saving, just like a real museum. So it's a good game to play when you don't know what to play.
PS: Noir and Capri should be right up your alley. And everybody should play Loom. A great classic and one of those easy oldies you just pop into your XP diskdrive and off you go.

Yeah, The Dark Eye has always intrigued me as well! So glad I've finally been able to get my hands on a copy of the game! I've already played it a little bit. It doesn't seem to run really well under Win XP, so it'll require some tweaking. Still, what I saw looked very original and unusual. 8-)
I'd definitely wouldn't miss out on Shivers 2! The puzzles are about the same level as the first Shivers, likewise the original artwork. Very good game! Wouldn't know which of the two is my favourite.
And do let us know your thoughts on Barrow Hill when you've played that one for a bit! From what I've heard and read, it looks like a very fun game.
@Terry Penrod:
What did you think of Arcanum? I've had that game at the top of my playlist regularly, but still haven't gotten round to it. It looks like an awesome RPG, in the vein of the Fallout games, but still retaining a style of its own.
@Kuddles:
Jep, finally ready to play Zork Grand Inquisitor! It seems to have a serious fanbase around here. 8-)
Hm, Colpet's post gave me idea for another topic...

Alice sounds like it might be it. @Elfstone: I really want to play Riddle of Master Lu, but I can't get it to run. I've got 3 Computers (win95, win98 and XP). I've tried the Dosbox set up on XP (from Inferno's site and Steve Metzler), but my computer techy skills are sub par. I think the problem stems from having my CDroms designated F and G. All the instructions say to use D. Oh, I can't get Deathgate to run, either.

I really liked Arcanum and yes one aspect of it - the very flexible character creation system - is similar to Fallout 1 & 2. It also has a large, mostly non-linear game world. However, the whole atmosphere is far less gritty and the story is more in the typical RPG fantasy vein with lots of dwarves and elves. The technological angle is cool too but it plays a much smaller role in the actual gameplay than magick, thieving abilities and just plain old brute melee force, which are all a lot easier to use throughout.
Part of the problem is that the best tech items and their components weigh so darn much and take up so much valuable inventory space - plus they really aren't any more effective than say a good sword, a bow and/or a little spellcasting or stealth. You can also find some nifty grenades for throwing at enemies that require no partricular tech skill to use. So the benefits just aren't worth the extra hassle of specializing in that path IMO.
Remember though that once you develop high enough magick skills, there are some tech merchants and at least one potential party member that won't even speak with you as your mere presence disrupts some of their delicate machinery. There is also a penalty for mage types when using the trains to travel long distances between certain key cities as opposed to sailing ships. But since there aren't any time limits for any of the quests, you can always walk by simply clicking on the world map - which also yields some good XP and loot from random encounters and reveals several optional new points of interest along the way.
Oh, and don't worry about limited party members. There are loads of them and only one I believe is mandatory. He (a healer type) joins you automatically from the start and even he is changeable along the way. The others offer a range of basic skills but are mostly just extra combat companions much like in Fallout.
In any event, I urge any first-time Arcanum players to make that key decision about specializing in magick early on and just live with it. Otherwise, the game is wide open, very non-linear, full of optional side quests and rather fun to play. Plus the flexible character development system allows you to attain some really useful thief skills no matter which direction you go.
Cheers, Terry
P.S.
For anyone else who may be interested in playing some of the great RPGs I listed on page one of this thread - Arcanum and every one of the others listed as replayed to date installed and ran without a hitch on WinXP with no special tweaks at all.
You might note however, that I have the final, fully patched, full retail versions of them all. So if you have an early release, you would still need to apply any official patches that may have come out later from the various publishers / developers.
Also, the only older PC titles from the next-up list that I have yet to test on WinXP are Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption and System Shock 2.

Colpet, I played the first 3 Agon games as downloads with no problems, but when I went to load The Mysterious Codex, it wouldn't play because it needs Quick Time 7 to run. Why they changed the requirements, I don't know, but I don't have time to install the upgrade right now.
Wimli and Andromus, The Dark Eye is one I want to look at soon, too. From what I've seen of those characters, they seem to suit Poe's eerie stories. I have a feeling that it will be extra creepy playing from the victim's point of view in each one, especially since I have a touch of claustrophobia.
