the outbox has a limit too (100 messages)... if you reached the limit, the messages won't be saved in your outbox... check to see if you reached that limit... if so, empty your outbox and try sending the pm again... if not, maybe the person you're trying to pm has a full inbox (although in that case i think you would see an error message telling you that)... otherwise, i don't know what the problem is!
