Gut reactions?
After deep thought?
Thanks!!

Status : Offline | My sister got a tattoo of Keith Moon (drummer from The Who) on her shoulder once. She was at Woodstock a few years ago and Pete Townsend spotted it. He had security bring my sister and her friend backstage. So...there she was backstage with Pete Townsend and John Entwistle. She got to ride in there limo, etc. (No, nothing like that! )
Anyway, she had some cool backstage pics of them.
She has since gotten it covered up with a much larger tattoo that nearly covers her entire back. It might be cool now since she is still in her 20's, but when she gets to her 40's she'll probably be trying to get it all removed!
Yes, I agree having someones name on you is quite risky unless it's your child or sibling. I get a kick out of women who have their boyfriends name tattooed on their lower back. Image when they break up with him and date someone else! Poor guy...just imagine doing the Speck 'woof-woof' routine and looking down at some other guys name... :

And some people might not like this, but I don't think women should ever have tattoos.  Especially if they're of a dolphin or Winnie the Pooh or something...) They always look awful.

Great idea if you want your spouse to leave and just can't say the words.

But i agree that when you get older they get kind of annoying... and removing them is also an annoying process (everything seems to be annoying) and it can damage your skin (well a tattoo doesn't do much good to it as well).
I don't like coloured tattoos ... they really don't look good. Black ones rock. I'd like to have one on my lower back, but like i said i don't have the guts to do it. It would be awesome if someday i just got the courage and do it, imagine how people would look lol... My parents would be extremely surprised - not that they're be mad or anything, but my mom's kind of scared of what kind of infections i can get by getting a tattoo... It's something that can happen.

Someone asked him if he'd ever get another, and his answer was, "If I had a compelling reason." Two weeks later he came home with my initials. His advice, however, is don't have this done unless you've been married at least 20 years.

One of the most beautiful of God's works (IMO) is the lower back/upper butt of attractive girls- and where do you think many girls are placing large tattoos these days?
Anyway, about the spouse's name on, say, an arm- Look at it this way: The chance of a first marriage succeeding is no more than 50%, the chance of a 2nd marriage well less than that, so what you are doing is permanently engraving the name of someone who you have a 50% or less chance of being with down the line and, not only that, if it's a messy divorce, you'll be wearing the name of someone you now hate. (Yes, I know tattoos can be removed, but it's not easy, can leave residual marks/scars and is expensive.)

The future ain't what it used to be!

I think the stats on divorce and marriage are out the window nowadays because people simply live together - so what are the stats for that kind of relationship I wonder?
And another point. Who said staying married was a sign of its success? Lots of people have platonic relationships - I've read as many as 10% of marriages. Not to mention all the undisolved marriages that incorporate violence. No, I don't think longevity of the marriage can be construed as a sign of success.
So, Ponder. Why not have LOVE or TOGETHER or some other romantic sloppy generic name tatooed onto your body instead. That way one size (word) fits all.....
Are you sure you don't really want a chinese dragon and you're just working yourself up to it? 8-)
oh god I hope you realise I'm joking.....

I assume that you do or are planning on wearing a wedding ring should you find yourself in that sort of arrangement. I think that is the most touching symbol of attachment to a spouse. Subtle yet obvious.
I'm very proud that my husband wears a wedding band and I happily wear one also.

I have a friend who used to be a tatoo artist and most of his body is covered in tattos, alot of it is freehand and though I can admire some of the work, its not something I would do. And if you DO decide to go ahead, make sure you choose wisely where you get it done, and personally I would supply my own ink, hepatitis is running rampant out there and just using a new needle isnt good enough, ( again in my personal opinion ) though with the proper precautions it isnt likely, but if anyone who has this ( unknowingly ) and had a tatto done recently the ink could be infected, so cover all bases if you decide to do this, I know I sound a little overboard, but believe me, your better off to take the proper precautions.

(and yes, it hurt like the devil, and no, i wasn't drunk) Your honesty is appreciated!!
At the time when I thought about getting one ( I was allot younger ) I asked some guys which they thought was sexier, tattoos or high heels, they ALL picked high heels! ( which was pretty painful too, i might add! But you must suffer to be beautiful!! )

You are talking about me behind my back? > That's an improper use of the PM function. I'm leaving the forum. Forever.
