Could that be because I sort of already knew what I was supposed to do and didn't spend as much time wandering around in a daze? Having never reached the ending the first time I played it, I was surprised when I reached the end this time.
I didn't realize I had been so close (like 1 or 2 steps away) and it was such a shock when I realized the game was done!!
Decided to replay Shivers. Anyone who remembers the Sierra games probably knows that the game will check out your system to be sure it meets the minimum requirements. What a laugh when it checked out my 2.4Gig WinXP.
It reported back to me that my cpu was type xxx and that I needed to have at least a 486 system to run the game. I think the appropriate term here would be "not FORWARD compatable".
Anyway, no problem running it except I needed to size my screen down to 800 x 600 (can WinXP go to 640 x 480 I wonder) and can enjoy the 640 x 480 window with my desktop image as the border. I guess if I really wanted I could run it on the Win98 system . . . . .
