No notated music, fully orchestrated band arrangements, electric bass or electric guitar tablature charts, the source material for the rhythm "scratching" samples, or synthesizer MIDI-Mapping instructions are necessary (or probably available).
Thanks!

I don't care if you like rap, it was an awful song. Not "My Humps" awful, but pretty damn close. And musically, it's the most uncatchy thing I have ever heard in my life.

Interesting. Almost sorrowful; a lament to poverty and uneducated and illegal urban street life - until the "pimp" decided he was going to do whatever it he thought it took to try and get "rich", subsquently dumping his "employees".
Then I felt no pity for the "pimp".

I'm glad you didn't ask for those. The song is scored for a full symphony orchestra, 10 LP/scratcher ( ) consoles, 2 synths, 2 rappers, one soloist and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir!

Or one CD (Master Quality) of the soundtrack to blast it through huge live reproduction equipment at 105 decibels for an arena-sized venue plus 2-3 guys that are expert lip-sync'rs.

I never said that I detest Korn, I said I wasn't crazy about it. I'm still in exploration phase on most of this new stuff. I'll give it another try. Give me the names of a couple of Korn songs that you really like and I'll check it out. (I promise you I won't trash it if I don't like it; I would ask you for Linkin Park tunes as well but they are not carried by itunes).
That's the great thing about places like Itunes; you can listen to 30 seconds of a song before you decide to buy a download of it, and they tell you the songs of each performer that have been downloaded the most so that you're not just taking a wild stab in the dark. They also have mixes of similar style songs so you can locate other music that is liked by people who like your song. It's all so user friendly.
I'm having a grand old time checking out the music scene over the last fifteen years or so. A lot of it is quite good. What does it matter that it can never touch In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. That's no reason for me to write it all off. I mean, there'll never be another Plato's Republic, but we still gotta read, right?

I sorta took your initial 'Absolutely' (in response to that 'other guy') to mean a support for rap which you weren't really doing as I read more closely, but I enjoyed giving you a rough time nonetheless. I'm actually familiar with all the groups mentioned above, but can't say I'm a big fan.
Ordinarily, I would admit to possibly suffering a music generation gap except for the fact that my kids enjoy the cds I burn as much as I do. Lately, they've included yes, Coldplay, but also, Train, Live, Green Day, Lifehouse, Moby, James Blunt, David Gray, Rascal Flatts, Dido, Jack Ingram, Sarah McGlauchlin.
No need to apologize, Dave. I wasn't offended. Now if you'll excuse me I have some pressing matters to attend to.
Hmmm. David Gray.

LOL, hence the wink...
No point in only listening to 30 seconds worth...hence to links for the full videos so you can hear the whole song. Yahoo! music is great.
My favorite Korn song has to be Thoughless. (listening to it at the moment actually)
http://search.music.yahoo.com/search/?m=video&p=Korn (you'll have to expand the video list for Thoughtless)
As far as Linkin Park goes, I'm don't listen to them that much, but I do like Crawling and In The End.
http://search.music.yahoo.com/search/?m=all&p=linkin+park
I just prefer my music a bit hard. Korn, Disturbed, Godsmack, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica (old Metallica), etc. However, I also like classical, some of the lighter rock bands, 80's metal, and even some celtic harp music. You'll never catch me listening to rap...

If I take that to mean that you are going to check out David Gray, my faves are: The One I Love, This Year's Love, Alibi (a real sleeper- has a beautiful hook in it near the beginning that isn't repeated again almost as if he's tantalizing us with his tunemanship!).
Also, if you find you like that stuff, then you've got to check out James Blunt, not only his flagship 'Beautiful', but also High, Tears & Rain, and Cry.
In the new TV series Conviction, bits of both Tears & Rain (Blunt) and Alibi (Gray) were used in the background. Bothered me a bit that they were being used that way since they only played short bits that were cut off, but it was interesting that Blunt & Gray appear to have been 'discovered' by even TV series music producers!

The future ain't what it used to be!

Uh no, I'm not...you are just conveniently quoting me out of context. The rest of my above reply basically says, "juji is right", because you DID come off as what he said. But remember, it was a joke. Right?
Regarding Korn: I think they created something new back when they released "Korn". Arguably, not a good creation, would some people say, I'm sure. It was aggressive, obscene and - yes - it was posing. I mean, he even cried at the end of one song and it was supposed to be something in-the-moment. Whether or not you believe that, it was very influential. And in the beginning it was very good, lightyears ahead of others who tried to imitate it. Nowadays I listen to it a few times, but it's basically the same over and over again...they just lost it a long time ago, I think. There's no "class" any more.
I put a list of recommendations in the Music thread, because this is getting off topic. Look there if you are interested.

Just so you are perfectly clear about this since you seem surprisingly lost in all this: Mine was a joke punctuated by a lot of music-related smiley faces. Your comment, 'That is weak, seriously' was hardly meant as part of a joke. What is surprising is that the post that set off Juji was in response to Anthony who, as usual, took it just as it was meant to be: light-hearted ribaldry between friends. Juji made his comment and I responded; okay, that's fine- let's say he & I have never been kindred spirits whether it's games, politics, music and probably everything else. But more to the point: Perhaps I DID come off as what Juji said, but also perhaps as well Juji doesn't have a sense of humor and perhaps it would have been better if neither of us had commented on it and perhaps you should have minded your own business.

The future ain't what it used to be!

Anyway, Im not a rap fan, but have appreciated a few rap tunes down the line, rap is a whole different mindset, whether you appreciate it or not, and in most cases I dont, its still music to the people who listen to it and write it, just like I really cant stand country music, "Redneck girl stays out all night" is just NOT my cup of tea, but the people who listen to it and write can relate to it, just as most rappers and the people who listen to rap can. We all have our little music snobbery ( I think ) and to each his own. BUT, I just dont think "lifes hard for a pimp" deserves an Oscar, I hate the Oscars anyway ( I only find what they are wearing down the red carpet interesting ) so dont really care and dont think there needs to be a big feud over it and really dont know why I bothered to add my 2 cents, but I did so there it is. The best blend of rock and rap were Faith No More. Rage Against The Machine were garbage, and their lyrics were painfully corny.
