Thanks for organizing, snowtime!

First of all, no offense to anyone, but I don't like any of the name in the High category, and I think that "ecorative Gargoyle" should swap places with Intergalactic Janitor. If I was a janitor, I would be insulted that a decorative gargoyle was higher than me (no joke)...

According to Val there are likely to be up to eight levels (including 10000+). She would like to keep some of the existing ones. So, I reasoned that choosing six would be a resonable help to her. Basically, I'm trying to make Val's job easier not more difficult. If you have problems with decision making that's not my problem - I'll only count the top two in your list from each category .

You might want to discuss that with Val. It's beyond my remit.

Not that keen on them myself to be honest but I didn't suggest anything better myself so I'm not going to complain. The categories are rough divisions based on the rankings within the original suggestions. It's quite hard because you're not comparing like with like. The decorative gargoyle was part of a group that had to do with age and how long something had been around and is unrelated to social status.
In the end the whole point of this is to help Val. She may decide that she doesn't like our favourites anyway and decide to do something completely different. She's the Administrator. She rules. That's fine by me.

God, what a dictator you're turning out to be. That is so not fair. > I only listed them alphabetically. I liked them all.
You should have let people choose 4 for each category and that way you'd find a lot of people choosing at least one over and over. You'd find a larger group of acceptable names to choose from.
I can't stand Private Investigator. We've had it long enough.

Grand Inquistor on the top. Not a big fan of the others. Necromancer if pushed.
Middle - Journeyman and Mighty Pirate (Knight Templar is good too)
Low - Explorer and Private Detective
Surely Piece o' the Furniture should be one of the highest ratings available..? It's meant to suggest permanance in a certain place rather than lowly object to sit on and ignore?

I had trouble with this one. Initially, I thought exactly the same as you. However, the group of names it was in was all about age and things that hang around for a time and furniture was a bit more temporary than some of the others. I'm prepared to admit I may have got it wrong and Val may correct me.

I'd go with:
High: Grand Inquisitor Guild Master
Middle: Schattenjäger Mighty Pirate
Low: Private Detective Intergalactic Janitor
Are the number of posts of the levels already set? Or are they going to stay the same?

Val has some new levels in mind.
