Status : Offline | In response to a comment earlier by the vendor of the games: TITANIC "ADVENTURE OUT OF TIME" and TIMELAPSE, I purchased both for the grand total of around $28 (including shipping). I know these aren't necessarily rare games in the strictest definition, but you won't readily find them in stores and they won't necessarily always be as easily readily available (and at such a good price) as they are now at : www.barracudanet.com.
My initial impressions of both games are excellent and they've been reviewed well elsewhere. If you haven't tried them I'd jump on this deal. The vendor appears to be one of the few strong adventure supporters left and IMHO deserves to be supported. That is, I think it's in all of our interest to send a message to the few adventure vendors left that there still is a market for these games.
P.S. I have no business interest in this at all and was not solicited in any way to write this. Am just an adventure game aficiando who wants to see this genre survive in a bigger way than it's been lately!

I would think that one would be Secrets of the Luxor. By rarest I mean those games that experienced Adventurers would give their eye-teeth to play but can't find them anywhere!

Way to go! You're in for a real treat. It's a shame the planned series of Neverhood based adventures wasn't continued, because The Neverhood is one of the most unique and refreshingly original adventures ever made.

I have many games from my younger days that would now be considered hard to find. Not ultra-rare compared to some games, just games everyone is familiar with that I happen to own.
- I thought Grim Fandango was no longer sold in stores, but then I happened to see it in the JC section last year.
From eBay I've gotten: - King's Quest 15th Anniversary edition - Phantasmagoria (shrinkwrapped) - BS 1 & 2 (rare if you're in the U.S.) - The Blackstone Chronicles

But anyway..... a year and a half later, my opinion hasn't changed. There is no such thing as a "collectible game." It is an oxymoron.
Everybody tired of hearing me say THAT again? Then talk to the guy who keeps resurrecting the dead topics. :-/

[EDIT: I never even bothered to notice the Venus symbol. My apologies, Romnut. I assumed that anyone so obstinate and bullheaded in their ways must be male.]

Things have changed a lot in 18 months, although some games will be rare forever of course. Recently, I saw a rare game offered on ebay, buy-it-now price 49.50. I considered it because it's on my Want List, low priority, but decided against it. Bad judgement. A bunch of collectors started bidding against each other and it ended up selling for 213 bucks.

When I first started collecting there were a couple of games that were impossible to find, a year or so later, they cropped back up in numbers and became not so collectible. The whole thing fascinates me. And I still believe I am collecting games. Just like I collect my Anne McAffrey books, my Anne Rice books, my Harry Potter books, my DVDs, my antiques, and all the other stuff I used to collect when I had money to throw around.

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

I can't believe people would bid that high on an auction where the seller has 0 feedback. Or at all but thats a different issue.
On my Ebay adventures, I'm proud of myself for getting The Neverhood and the Dark Eye for a combined price that was less than $50 (both jewelcases but still).
