My current IF playlist:
A Mind Voyaging Forever - I was replaying it and just finished it. I had forgotten how good the ending sequence was. Gateway 1 & 2 - they're GOOD Planetfall - just starting it.
Oh, and I will resume Photopia anytime soon.

Yes, the ending is fantastic. Exploring the last simulation (where the city has really changed a lot) has also replay value since it is very difficult to see all the places for the dangers that sorround the character

I am starting with the fisrt and must agree with you, very good adv.

I finished with Zork 1-3 over the Christmas holidays and knocked off Enchanter and Sorcerer last week. Next stop: Spellbreaker!
The prose is excellent, the writing always on the light side and the puzzles (especially in Spellbreaker) are wicked!

Hi Howard . I was playing your adventure and having a lot of fun. Dialogues and description are really hilarious!!! The only thing is that.... I am stuck!!! I have blackmailed my boss (there is a little bug there, the games keeps awarding points if you repeat the action) and locked up the tech but now I have no clue what to do next. I tried to talk to the tech but he is to frighten to talk...
So, so far the game is quite good and, as you have said, very polished....

Gahhh another bug! <banging head against desk>
Ok, I'll fix that.
Ok, what's next. Hmmmm let me give some vague hints. I hate spoling...
1) Ok since blackmail worked you must have an approved travel request form. Now, where do you suppose you should put it so that it gets processed?
2) Did you find the Majestic Hammer of Bastarddom yet? Have you tried to use some of its "magical" properties?
Thanks for the compliments!
Howard
PS Release 7 was launched on January 30th..

I have download this game within the big archive with all the entries in last competition but haven't played yet. Have you enjoyed so far?
BTW, by the time I posted this thread I run along two Legend Games (Gateway I and II) and playing "Eric the Unready" right now. These guys from Legend are really fantastic... so great are the games they have made.... I wonder what are they doing right now.... designing a level for Unreal 2 maybe?....

Just finished Alien Abduction, a TADS adventure. Great! Interesting story, which makes you think. Play that. Quite short, but intense.

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

I need a walkthrough for games more often than I care to admit.  o you find walkthroughs helpful to the overall game experience?

That's useful too! We all need people to identify bugs long after the game is released. I don't think any piece of Interactive Ficiton is ever truly bug-free.
I replayed Zork II recently and noticed a bug in it that's never been fixed TO THIS VERY DAY!
If you stop the carousel (I won't say how to do this) the room descriptions still mention that you hear a "whirring noise" from every room NEAR the carousel even though it isn't moving anymore...

I guess the walkthrough gives you one of those "oh! I should've thought of that!" moments and you continue,.
I've often found a fond appreciation for a puzzle that stumped me in the walkthrough.

Status : Online | Have played 3 nice IF recently:
Alien Abduction? - good piece of IF, clever plot, some puzzles are too hard to come by without help
Arrival or Attack of the B-Movie Clichees - funny TADS adventure, which uses the HTML functions to a greater extent than usual, optional graphics and menus included, nice puzzles with increasing difficulty
At Wit's End - great game, you are a baseball hero for just a few seconds then your ride begins...and that's one helluva ride you will see, some parts more story than puzzles, but there is an especially fun puzzling section...too bad I couldn't finish due to a bug
