it might seem like that when you're looking at the tourney from the outside, but from the inside you can see the difference... qrious would get 7-10/10 correct every week, but would send lots of pms, would make double and triple guesses, would make mistakes... on the other hand, bastich is a surgeon! he sends one single pm/email which is clean and precise! no double guesses, no mistakes and no second pm/email! take this week for example... his email looks like this:

1. correct guess
2. correct guess
3. correct guess
4. correct guess
5. correct guess
6. correct guess
7. correct guess
8. correct guess
9. correct guess
10. correct guess

btw, imprisoned gods is a mini adventure from civen studios, which is mainly one guy from greece who has made 4 mini adventures... 2 (the gate & the lost island) of them are in greek only and 1 (the signal) is really short (like 5 minutes) and crappy... the only one that could be played worldwide is imprisoned gods, since its in english

The reason for that is that I am purposefully trying to get a 100% correct guess percentage. I'll never guess all the screenshots no matter how hard I try in a tournament, but it IS possible for me to never make an incorrect guess, so I've made that my goal this time around. A sort of personal handicap if you will...

As it stands, I have six weeks of no incorrect guesses which is a personal record for me. Hopefully I can keep it going all the way to the end.

The prize is so awesome this time that I will break my handicap in a second if anyone pressures me though...

iirc your pms were exactly the same in the previous tourney! and i don't remember you making any wrong guesses, but i could be wrong

talking about making a perfect 100%, when is it that it starts counting? i mean, there have been ppl that have had 100%s but that's because they only made a couple of guesses throughout a tourney... vestrummatt comes to mind, who used to guess all the myst-clones perfectly, having 100% correct guesses, but that was all that he sent guesses for

The goal is to win the tournament without making a wrong guess, which those other people didn't do. That means I have to make a lot more guesses than they did. At the rate I am going, I will probably be guessing over 100 games without a mistake. Although, if I my lead keeps growing, there will be a lot less pressure on that front.

My unrealistic goal is to hit 150 pts. I need to average just over 11.5 pts a week to do that. I'm currently only at 11.25 AVG. I need to nail a few more perfect weeks. I'm slacking!

If I played amateur games, I would do better, but there are just too many commercial games left for me to play so I can't justify it.

They need to stop making adventure games for a bit so I can finish all those made in the last ~26 years.  It's hard when the list keeps growing...

I'm pretty sure I missed some, but maybe I just don't have enough RAM left in my brain for anything but screenshots anymore and can no longer remember anything else. In fact, I've focused so much on playing rare games lately that I am actually having a harder time on shots 1-5 than 6-10.

yeah, but i envy him! i wish i had the time to play all the old adventures... finishing like 2 adventures a week (not with walkthrus)! plus, he will get his own easter egg in scratches, while the tourney master will get nada!

btw, maybe i should have the next few weeks full of indie and new adventures! that will make things interesting!

So this is how legends are born.

And I play them blindfolded, too!!!

In truth, I usually only average about 1 adventure game per week, I do use walkthroughs if I get really stuck, and that number is somewhat padded by occasional replays.

I have played 10 adventure games so far this year, but that is because I have purposely focused on short, easy games.

Some of those short, easy games I have been playing are Indie games so you may not have any luck there. I'd be screwed if you went amateur though.

Essentially, I only play games that someone has gone through the effort to package and sell.

Well guys, I want to officially wish you luck for the next two weeks of the tourney.  I'll be away on holiday and won't have access to a computer, so i'll be absent through week 8 and not making any guesses.
Of course, now all the games I *would* recognize will suddenly appear!)

So have fun, and good luck!!!    [smiley=clap.gif]

If you're flying, you'd better scramble.  Lots of New York flights have already been cancelled.  We're just getting rain here in my part of New Jersey, but further north and west is supposed to be hit pretty hard during the night.

Have fun, Avatar!

Grim Fandango, huh? Oh damn. It was in the back of my mind, but I dismissed it because it seemed not to fit, at all. Seemed weird, really.
Question: Is Shady Brook in any way related to Imprisoned Gods? Those damn new adventures...I haven't even heard about the latter. But I ask, because thers "inventory" written in the top left corner of the full pictures...in both of them, the same way. That seems like they must be from the same company/creator?

Dracula Resurrection...well, I don't remember the game in THAT much detail. That was evil, again.

This week looks pretty hard, again. No guesses on first glance except perhaps one. Have to think hard about those...especially because they show paintings and interesting things like lamps!

Oh, you crazy evil guy, you!

I'm formally registering a small protest.  Since the same screenshot for #2 can be found in both Dracula Resurrection and Dracula: The Last Sanctuary, I think both games should have counted.

week 6 was definately lady k's week! (i am not saying bastich's week too, cause all weeks are bastich's week... :
)... lady k would have gotten a perfect 10/10 if it wasn't for that dracula sshot! turns out, the same exact mirror appears in dracula 2, which is what she guessed! but, like i told her, as well as roberto in an email about a syberia dispute, the guess has to be the game the sshot was taken from in order to be correct! (and, no, i didn't do it on purpose, i didn't even know that about d2!
)

@elfstone: no, shady brook has nothing to do with imprisoned gods... i thought shady brook was more well known, since its developer, christopher brendel, hangs out in the forums... he's the man behind lifestream too, which has the same inventory icon, and the upcoming game awaken... apparently, all those games were made using the same engine

Ah, same engine, yes.

Regarding LadyK:
She's right, I guess. Dracula Last Sanctuary picks up where Resurrection left, so there might even be some of the same locations. I think if she can prove it she should get the points!
Because those scenes most likely look very much the same or completely the same, even. Not sure if there was even a change of engines in between those games.

As Aya and I have already discussed via p.m., the bedroom and several other locations are the same in both games with just some changes in the hot spots, but because he hadn't played the second one, he didn't realize that or wouldn't have used that shot.

Unfortunately for me, I already had two guesses in before I realized that I was looking at a mirror, not a window, and suddenly knew where it was.  I was going to name both games, but since I had only one guess left, I figured it didn't matter which one I chose.  I just assumed Aya was being his usual devious self and would credit both.

Now that I think of it, this did happen in the Halloween tournament, too, with the dragon ring as one of the inventory items.  It appears in both games, so I named them both.

Anyway, a new week has started.  Nine out of ten was a personal best for me, so I'm off to boggle my brain over this next set.

Congratulations on a great week last week LadyKestrel!!

I didn't even think about the fact that the mirror was in both Dracula games. I simply guessed the right one by luck it seems.

If I were you, I would consider that a 10/10 week. You only missed on a technicality.

Thanks, Bastich!  Same to you!

The main thing is I'm still having fun.  Besides, looking for confirming screenshots keeps me off the streets at night and out of trouble.

I missed both Flight of the Amazon Queen and The X-Files this week. I knew that I played the game in no. 5 but couldn't remember what it was. I should've known it was FotAQ.

Also, that X-files picture was used before, right? I thought that lamp looked familiar and wanted to guess but couldn't find proof.

This week is also tough, but I think I recognize a couple of screenshots.
