I decided to start this topic for those of us who feel the need to express themselves regarding the current trivia contest.

@*#^%!!!!  I can't believe I didn't recognize the guard queep from The Space Bar!  I worked on that puzzle forever, too, but just didn't remember they were red.  I kept thinking it was a mouse and couldn't for the life of me think of a game with a red mouse.  I'm putting this game at the top of my replay pile because this is the second memory lapse I've had with it.

There.  I'm feeling much better now.

An odd thing, I haven't played Myst 4 yet, but the picture reminded me of something from the Myst series anyway, Myst 3 for some reason. Should have tried the old shotgun guessing strategy, but didn't.

Week 2 -- a few pics look familiar but I can't place anything at first glance!

From the 10 games of week 1, I played Laura Bow and Sam 'n Max and I guessed, Laura Bow and Sam 'n Max. If I can keep that up the entire tourney, I'll be a happy man.
I'll strike in the rounds that feature more older games.

i didn't want to make any comments last week, because of my mistake making it possible to cheat, but apparently we have a new bastich on the block (it's a new boy band too!
)... unless it's bastich himself (which i don't know about), this discordance fellow seems to be the new candidate for the throne! curious to see papabrody's comeback!

so far no one has come up with an impressive 10/10, but i will be very suspicious if someone does it... i won't be able to prove anything though... :-/

btw, that url is of course not available anymore and the full pics are offline, and this will NOT happen again on the next weeks, so don't even try!

Re: week 1 - I got 4 right!  I think that's a record for me for a single week's guesses!!
Re: week 2 - One right, and I think that's all I'm going to have time for this week.  Although pic #2 looks way too familiar.  I know I'm going to kick myself when the answer's revealed for that one.

meanwhile, congrats to papabrody for representin' the forumites with a tie for #1 in the first round!  whoo hoo!

I just sent my last pathetic guesses off to Aya and am now taking what's left of my brain to bed.  I plan to sleep until well after the answers are posted and the new screenshots are up.  After this trivia week, I'm almost looking forward to the second part of my root canal tomorrow.
[gripe, grumble, mumble]  Where's that little blue guy when I need him?

Nice call on Full Throttle, Papa B.!  One of these days I will play that game.  I've had it for several years but have never gotten around to it, mostly because of the action.

I'm flogging myself on how close I came to guessing the sink and the little skeleton last night, but I guessed game 1 instead of 2 for both.  [smiley=boggled.gif]  You also outdid yourself with sneakiness on the JP3 shot, Aya.  I don't recognize it at all nor the chameleon-suit character at the bottom.  Is it in El Dorado or Atlantis?

the sshot was from atlantis... the suit is from some guard i think

btw, it seems we'll have a major neck-to-neck fight till the last minute between discordance and papabrody! the first one since garagegothic and agustin in black mask!

check out that discordance guy! 10/10, with the same "one cold, precise, one guess per pic email" method that bastich used!
papa needs to do some really good guessing now if he doesn't want to be left behind!

Oooh.  Week 3 was harsh.  I guessed the wrong "Monkey Island" for #2, and totally missed THe Longest Journey, even though I *knew* I knew it from somewhere...

Unfortunately... week 4 looks harsher...

Aya - are they getting progressively harder, or am I going to have to chalk up my 4 correct in Week 1 to blind luck?   :-[
p.s.  papabrody...

not only was that papa's worst week so far, it was also discordance's (or is that dark aya's!
) best! so now the difference is kinda wide between the two of them, but it's too early to say... lady k's last minute guess for dark side of the moon deprived discordance of another double-pointer, and kept papa closer!

now that we're 4 weeks into the game, i think that the non-forumites who see this for the first time are getting the hang of it! check out that guy "a" for example... his start was a little dodgy, but now he's gaining ground and is becoming a threat to lady k... curious how many forumites will be in the top 3, 5 and 10 in the end (and of course whether the winner will be a forumite!)

btw, all those 7-point ppl are messing up the top 10! >

actually, i believe week 3 was the easiest one so far! week 4 should be kinda tougher though, maybe the toughest so far!

Aaaw, don't cry!

I missed TLJ, too. And I can't remember that picture, even now that I know...
And I missed Callahan's Crosstime Saloon...I was thinking about it for a second among others like Shannara, Eric the Unready and Death Gate (recently played that and knew it's not that). Because that really looked like a Legend game...damn. Because it was one.

I know! Damn, TLJ, Monkey Island 1 (and here I was thinking that would be too obvious  :
, well, plus I didn't recognize it either) AND sanitarium?! Those are all games I played!
:-/ this should have been a fantastic week, scorewise,. Aargh, oh well at least it was still ok though with four correct guesses.

But, I just looked at week 4, what the F.... ?! ok, that's me out of the top 10 again.

Oh, and I noticed during week three you noted down my name for my correct guesses as Wimli@justadventure.com. Does that mean I have an email adress here now?
