I know being a GM is fun for a day or two but I's still a big kid - I'd like a few more name changes.

I never look at how many posts people have, who cares? It is what they say that is important, not how many posts they have made. Is there a prize for being the biggest windbag with the most posts?

Yeah, you win one of those self-inflating egos that bounce right back into place at the lightest touch.

You mean those who reply to a one-liner with a voluminous ranting? Some people are well balanced ... chip on each shoulder. :

Status : Offline | Hi, folks. It's probably too late to list my final favs and ideas, but I feel that the titles for each level of posting should be kept whimsical, cute, non-militaristic - and short. That is, three levels. Then when we become bored with these, change them again. My final three picks, and yes, only one on the original list is listed. The last two are my own.
You see - I believe the level names should remain consistant throughout the Level Positioning Nomenclature System. With a little thought, one may come to understand what I mean regarding "consistency":- Low - "ecorative Gargoyle" - the best, most whimsical and friendly title for beginning JA+ Forums posters - and my only favorite...a pleasant way to welcome new Posters.
Not to insult Newbies or First-time posters per se, but just enough to say, "I'll a be Decorative Gargoyle" for awhile (more often than not - a previous and unregistered lurker), but I want to share more. This seems like a friendly group so I will involve myself more with the forums. I will register today."
- Medium - "The Topiery Has Found It's Voice"
- High - "Horn o' Plenty"
I feel the "long" list doesn't measure up - in a consistant (or even whimsical) clever way the possibilties of a wonderful new yet albeit temporary - for a working Level Positioning Nomenclature System. The new names suggested seem hackneyed, over-used, trite, tired, and unoriginal.
All I ask is - just remain consistant. Even the old "Names" were consistant - and now - we are grasping at straws with a possible alienation of future "ex-lurkers'. No more militaristic, "army", RPG, Fantasy, Zorkian names - please. They've been done to death.
There is simply enough creativity right here, but I don't think we are working hard enough. Relax - they will come to you. But please...try to keep them funny, and at the non-expense of others.
Keep it simple, logical, progressively heirarchical - and fun!
And SnowBlower - think. Ponder silliness yet logical. This can give a lot of food for thought, really. You can do it. It's in you - so get to thinkin'. Think "funny" and original. And get back to us. Soon, OK?
Please proofread your posts carefully to see if you any words out.

Mark, I appreciate your views and I would also welcome more creative and amusingly idiosyncratic names myself. (I don't think that the current system is particularly consistent and I'm not sure I agree with the idea of only three levels - but I'll let that pass.)
However, I think you are overestimating my role in this. All I have been asked to do is to find out what ideas are popular with the Forum Members and report back to Val. What Val does with the information is entirely up to her and I suggest that you raise these points directly with her or canvass the opinions of the Forum. (If I were you, I would start a topic or a poll elsewhere, as not many people come to this area unless directed.)
If I had been commissioned to redesign the posting levels rather than just collect opinions and ideas from others, then logical silliness would certainly have played a part.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Status : Offline | The adventure type level names may have been done to death but this is an adventure game forum so I'll probably stick to at least a few adventure names for levels. Plus I like them and I wanna do that cute little icon thing!!
We can be heroes, just for one day.
