Status : Online | Hi Erik.
I recently bought 'In Memoriam' (aka 'Missing') for 8 British Pounds and I'm beginning to think I might have been stung. :-(
When I try to register my e-mail address at the start of the game I get the following message:
"The connection with our server has been temporarily interrupted. Please check your Internet connection and try logging in later".
My Internet connection is totally fine.
I notice there's a patch at http://www.inmemoriam-thegame.com/gb/bre.htm but the .exe doesn't seem to run :-(
Has anybody else been here before?
Cheers,
Brian

Just found another version of the patch which works!
It can be found at http://ww2.focusmm.co.uk/supportresults.aspx?problem_ID=1482&ess_code=ESS516
Maybe this one is for European versions (I'm in the UK) and the previous one was for the US edition (Missing)...?
Have now been able to register my e-mail address successfully and make a start on the game
Cheers,
B.

Status : Online | I've been playing this. There's a couple of problems. Most of the stuff you have to search for, the 'ad' websites have added the search text to their keywords or whatever it is, and you click on a lot of sites that are just ads for other sites or unrelated to the game, pages and pages of them.
The emails sometimes take a while to show up. Meaning days. I dno't know if it's my mail or their server. And sometimes the clue you need to solve a puzzle is in the email. I played tonight for a couple of hours and didn't get one email. There's an answer to a puzzle in the emails. I have a walkthrough, so I knew what to do, but if I didn't have that I'd be pretty frustrated. I'm not great with games anyway, but in this case, the walkthroughs have the correct websites, if you want skip all the ones that are just ads and junk. SW

| Deleted User | Hi mrsbwayne, As I recall, the emails are not triggered unless you are connected to the Internet from within the game. When I played Missing, I was on a dial-up connection which charged by the hour, so rather than leave the connection on while I played, I quit the game when I needed to check the websites, only rarely using the Internet feature within the game. Unfortunately, this means that I only rarely triggered the email messages, and it took me until the end of the game to figure out why. Don't be like me. Leave your Internet on, even if you miss crucial phone calls.

Status : Online | Hi, I used the internet feature in the game as well as the Ctrl-Esc to switch back and forth. The email used to come on time, like when I first started playing, but it seems they get later and later.
I thought the emails were triggered when you signed into the game. Hmmm...because the one time I got one that was, like, 3 days late, I hadn't been playing the game at all that day.
Anyway, I just checked my mail again, still nothing... Sarina

| Deleted User | I bought Missing when it was released. I got lots of emails but there was something wrong with them from the start. Some arrived too early, giving away vital information or the solution to problems I hadn't encountered yet. And they kept coming when I ran into nasty bugs and had to quit playing the game.
