We are considering removing the entire middle non-adventure genre section of the forum and replacing it with adventure related subjects in an attempt to have an all-adventure forum.

The replacements we have come up with so far are:

Adventure Fan Literature - this would give fans a chance to post links to literature/stories they have written based on adventure games.  There is a lot of this out there.

Adventure Game Trades - would allow fans to trade adventure games with others.   Originals only, no copies, etc.

Adventure Fan Reviews - would allow readers to post their own reviews of adventure games.

Does anyone have any other ideas for adventure related subjects we could use that would draw a large response?

Sounds good to me.  I'd say Adventure Fan Stuff, which would inlcude both Literature and Reviews.  Or just not put anything and just keep main forum section.

As for trading, can't we leave that to eBay or GTZ?

Mi thoughts

I really like the idea of a game trading zone on JA.  I realize that this is exists on other forums, and of course there're also GTZ and Ebay, but... well, I find those "other" places (besides Ebay) rather daunting.  The JA forums community is still small, and while I'm certain it'll grow by leaps 'n' bounds, that's ok, because I'll grow with it.

I'm all for getting rid of that middle section; after all, the site *is* sorta called JUST adventure.
I would vote in favour of keeping Fan Literature separate from Fan Reviews.  Lumping them together could make things extremely confusing for people who're not interested in one or the other.

Other adventure-related topics:
- Deal of the day/week, to which readers may contribute their finds.  A separate forum for this would keep it visible on the main page.  The fact that Amerzone is currently $2.87 at EB is sort of lost in my Sacred Amulet thread in the Discussion forum.
- A Developers' zone might be kind of cool, where we could ask questions about the industry itself that y'all "in the know" might be able to answer.  Various aspects of creating, marketing and selling a game could be discussed, and perhaps distinguished guests would be kind enough to grace the forums with their presence occasionally and leave behind a few pointers for us

It's past 5am, and I think my ability to be coherent will fail me shortly, so I'll stop now.

The non-adventure section is not what I'm here for so I wouldn't really mind losing it, I guess there would still be room for that in the off-topic section?

Why limit things to Fan Literature? Maybe some folks produce fan games, art, music or whatever...

I also like the deal of the day idea...

Very GOOD.  "JA Deal of the Week/Day."  Awesome idea and I can't believe I didn't think of it.  This site I visist daily has the same thing called Value of the Week.  It is www.gonegold.com.  Fun site.

Hi Randy and everyone,
Occasionally I thought I would post something about a site that had something that might be of interest to adventure gamers, although not an adventure game.  Would there be a place for that kind of info in the board redesign?  An example would be a write-up on the animated graphic novel - Broken Saints (it's free too).

If not, that's OK.
Regards, mszv

Wouldn't such a write-up have its place in the off-topic forum?

Hi all,
I wasn't sure if the off-topic forum would go away too.

I'd like to keep the advertisements and off-topic forum.

Oh, I see the forum has been changed - never mind!
