Status : Online | I've had enough of this stupid game now.
I put up with the crappy interface (start a conversation with someone...choose a topic from the notebook...right-click to get the "exit" icon...left-click to exit the notebook...go back to the beginning for every conversation topic...zzz).
I put up with having to show the press ID to the taxi driver every single time I wanted to go somewhere else.
What threw me over the edge is the way that Roberta Williams designed her characters by opening the Big Book of StereotypesTM:
"Hmm, I need a laundry shop...let's put a Chinaman in there! Page 176...I need a bad pun for his name and to make sure him speaking pigeon Engrish."
"Italian character? Page 312...Make him bad-tempered and make sure every word he says ends with an a."
I quit the game when I came across an Irish policeman with an awful Leprechaun accent and sodding Irish Jig music in the background! She even made him say "begorrah"!
Who else would I have come across later in the game? The overweight black servant that says "Yes Massa"? The limp-wristed, mincing gay hairdresser?
Roberta, you are a bloody hack. You can't even write--a taxi driver asking "To which destination may I motivate you"? I'm not going to try any more games with your name on it. I'm glad Sierra doesn't exist any more.
...not to be confused with Keira Knightley

You should be OK in the first chapter, that's pretty linear. Just have a saved game at the beginning of each.
I put up with having to show the press ID to the taxi driver every single time I wanted to go somewhere else. So, I'm guessing you didn't know you could cross the street? NYDRNT to Police Station and Lo Fat's to Flower Shop, and vice versa. Just remember to look both ways before crossing the street. Hehehehe
What threw me over the edge is the way that Roberta Williams designed her characters by opening the Big Book of StereotypesTM It's supposed to be that way.
Who else would I have come across later in the game? The overweight black servant that says "Yes Massa"? Um, have you played the first game?
Now, to which adventure-gaming destination can I motivate you?
I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

here's a tip: along with avoiding all roberta williams' games, avoid every other game that you see (c)19xx next to it...
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

So, Merry Chris-mas, I guess that after what you said about the Laura Bow game, and Sierra, that I should not expect any glad tidings from you on this end of year, being that I do love Sierra games, and Roberta Williams as well.
Let me see.......
The old Sierra games, had several particular things in common.
First, you really had to put your thinking cap on.
Second, you had to set yourself into the mood of the genre and time period depicted.
Yes!, that means saying "Massa"
Why!?
Because, the games played out in the mind-set shall we say of the times and period being depicted.
Guess you did not notice that!
And yes! quick answers were also not always forthcoming in the old Sierra games.
Sierra did not produce hint books early in their game making history.
The William's expected their fans who played to think!

Well said ShadowWalker. I am an old Sierra fan as well. I played them all without a walkthrough because there were no walkthroughs and that's more than you can say for a lot of the new games today.
