Assuming you are talking about all-time best Adventure Games of The Year, what about Grim Fandango and the Gabriel Knight series?
The reason I ask is that the last three choices in your poll could include any of the Monkey Island or Myst titles and Scatches isn't even released yet.
Cheers, Terry

As an American who could not easily / affordably buy MOS until this year (much like the original U.S. release of TLJ lagged behind Europe), I have no choice but to consider it for 2005 Adventure GOTY and so far, it is my first choice.

No problem AM and thanks for clarifying things.
I loved all the Monkey Island games too and wish there had been a new one to vote for this year.

As another American who could not easily / affordably buy MOS (although did buy it when released by GMX in 2004) I would vote for it too. But as I recall the game was discussed last year as a candidate for GOTY. Is it fair to include it this year also?
Edit: Sorry, I missed the word 'Your' in the topic title. I guess everyone is free to include whatever they want.

On reflection, we didn't get any particularly amazing releases this year, did we?
Next year looks a lot more promising.

Can't really vote as I've not played half of them

Of the list I would put Myst V at the top, but I would put that beneath both Phoenix Wright and the homemade game Jessica Plunkenstein.

I didn't vote because the list isn't complete enough. Are you going to go back and add the missing ones?

I chose Still Life, too, Chris...I wasn't that excited about any of the releases in 2005. Looking forward to next year, though - especially Dreamfall!

Jessica Plunkenstein is very overlooked IMO. Hope those college kids produce another one!

So discounting that, it would be Fahrenheit. It reminded me of how much I love gaming. Phoenix Wright would be a close second and the Agatha Christie one would round out my top 3.

@AdventureManiac You should probably decide if you want to includ freeware or perhaps break it out in a separate thread. But that's your decision.

It's not very reliable (Super Mario 64?), but it's a starting point...

I agree with RobD, freeware should be on a separate list. Jessica Plunkett wins that easily.
