you're right. This could be a great adventure.
I can't remember if there is a SK book converted into an adventure other then the Dark Half.

Brings back memories.
Anybody know an other King game? No Kings Quest please.
There are books of him that would be great adventures. Same goes with a lot of other writers like Clive Barker. Undying was great, but had not a real 'Barker' sign on it. IMHO.
See ya.
(btw, why have you posted this in the HOT SPOT section. It's not much of a hot spot thread to me. Or is it because you are a hot spot youself? )

Stephen King Games
Well I hesitate to mention F13 because it's a pile of rancid dog poo. It was more a collections of wallpapers and screensavers with some wack a mole mini games thrown in.
There was a Lawnmower Man game, A "The Mist" text adventure and of course "The Running Man" had a game
Dark Tower would be ok, but hard to envision a game based on it.
I've always thought that "The Stand" would make a pretty decent adventure with the surviving without power parts especially lending itself to puzzles.

Yeah, the Dark Tower would be nice but ideally I wouldn't want the series to be converted to anything.. no films, no games, nothing. Perfection should be left untouched in my opinion. Of course, a comic book has already been announced so so much for that thought.

Don't worry. I got the impression that the comic isn't simply going to retread the events from the books. For example, we'll finally get to see what happened on Gerico (can't remember how it's spelled) Hill.

On the one hand, I would love to be able to "live" some of the crucial moments in the series - on the other, I'm afraid it would keep the uninitiated from actually reading the series.
"Oh, I've already played the game(s), I don't need to actually read the books."
I think the ending would be interesting too...especially if it ended like the books.

I'd imagine (because re-doing the books themselves would be kinda hard, the events take place very specific to the results of the gunslingers' skills) a game based on the Dark Tower would be that supposed last trip through his history, with all the changes made by Roland's purgatory coming to an end. What type of game do you imagine it, though? Point and click adventure? Third person shooter/adventure? Fps? *laughs* RPG? "Roland gains thirty experience points. Roland levels up! *trumpet noise*"

Another one of his that would make a great game would be The Talisman.

While on the subject of Stephen King novels that might make good games, I can certainly see "Misery" being adaptable: it'd be like one of these "escape from the locked room" games, except it'd actually be an "escape from the crazy bitch" game.

Of course, the series I would most like to see in the shape of a game, would be Gene Wolfe's "Shadow of the Torturer" series. (The Books Of The New Sun).
