Question: is there anyway of looking at all of a member's posts now? It only seems to go up to 50 in the list of options.

The "all" option is gone however I can put in any number as the max. Haven't decided what that number should be yet.

Good, so 50 won't the upper limit. Thanks for the info!

So has anyone figured out why the forum screen jumps from left to right and back again when the window isn't full screen?  It happens on my old win98 at home running AOL and also at work on our WinXP.

I've just noticed that when I view the pages in Internet Explorer I can't see the Quote, Modify or Delete buttons in posts. Works fine in Firefox so I'm not going to worry too much about it.

You're not running 800x600 screen res. are you? Going higher eliminates that in most cases. Working on another possibility but as I have a day job and tons of other stuff, I only have about 1 hour per day to deal with this stuff.

To everyone to keep the frustration level down(
): I have a full time day job that is over 40 hours per week and a family with all kinds of schedules there... plus the JA website's daily update and maintenance and problems and more... it takes me a while to get to some of the forum issues. Please be patient.

Higher resolution hasn't eliminated the shifting when the window is minimized in my case, Val.  I use
1024x768 and 1280x1028 and the screen shifts on both and stops only when I go to full window.

By the way, I'm just trying to give you some helpful feedback here, Val.  I'm not trying to be demanding or pushy.  I'll be patient and await your fine tuning, which I am sure will fix the problem (once you figure out a way to fit us into your busy schedule; how about next Thursday, you know, if its raining and there's nothing special on tv).

And don't think you're not appreciated here, Val.  I think you do outstanding work here and make an excellant manager for this site (despite what everyone else says about you in pms).

anthony, I'm going to assume you are joking about fitting "you all" into my schedule. (otherwise I'll burst into tears!) and tv?? what the hell is that? Just ask Aya how much free time I have... it drives HIM nuts because he feels neglected as well. Checking this forum from work is even a rare luxury.

[edit]and when you say "minimzed" window you mean not full screen I guess. The banner images combined with the forum logo width is wider than your window width... let me think on this to see if there is a solution. In the meantime, you could make the window full screen and really minimize (little - by the square and the x in the upper right corner as you know) when you want something else on top. I personally have all windows full screen always as I can't stand side by side, etc.[/edit]

Yes, of course, I'm joking Val.  We are, after all, talking about a little nit on an overall outstanding renovation job.

When I used the term "minimize" I meant clicking the little box with the two linked squares in the upper right corner of the screen.  When I click that to open us a smaller window on top of the larger full screen window, the threads shift left and right on that smaller window regardless of what resolution I set.  (Unless, I'm doing it wrong).

Anyway, it's a real minor point and no big deal.  If there's an easy way to fix it, great, but if not I'll use full window.  That is not really a major adjustment for me.  And, all kidding aside,  whenever you get to it is fine.  I'm not in any rush.  Seriously.

So are you gonna pencil us all in for an hour next Thursday or what?

Yes. Just trying to be helpful and not pressuring. I think you're doing a great job and I never join in the comments about you in PMs!

Do we have a brown-nose smiley yet?

What's all this about the screen jumping from side to side? I haven't had that problem and have looked at it in both Firebird and IE, I still use good old Win98 at the moment and 800 x 600 resolution with no problems at all.

I have a problem with scrolling pages. Sometimes when Iclick the mouse wheel it doesn't work, and sometimes the 'Home' button doesn't work with the forum (haven't tried the others). And a couple of time when I just scrolled normally I got an error and all forum pages closed, can you please help?

I also like how the links under the logo point to the important mostly-accessed pages.

You know ... the walkthroughs.

Just for your information, Val, the board runs fine for me in Safari, Firefox, and iCab.

Edit:  I just realized that this board has "last post" buttons for each thread.  That makes it so much easier to navigate, especially when a thread has multiple pages.  Thanks for that! [smiley=thumbs.gif]

Part of that sounds like a mouse problem. Has anyone else had these issues? Perhaps the page isn't fully loaded when you are trying to scroll or when hitting the "home" button. I can't duplicate the error so it's hard to tell.

Just discovered another nice feature, you can make changes to your posts for at least a little while after posting without getting an "Edited" stamp on them, which is great for me as I'm eternally catching typos or grammar issues I want to fix right after I post. Now I can look like less of a suspicious serial editor.

Quick question - what happened to the "remove vote" that used to accompany the polls?
I'm thinking specifically for the "Member Game Rankings" since I have recently played a few and want to change my 'have not played' vote.)....

???

Two things:

1. Why are certain members listed as ex-member in certain areas?  For example, Avatar is an ex-member in the Adventure Members Game Reviews section.  As is Peter_Holberg, Betje , etc. in others.

2.  Still getting that exceeded PMs in my inbox message. I only have 34 messeages. I just wrote a 35th and it said I had 101 and it was deleteing the oldest.  Hmmm, a thought.  Is it counting both the inbox AND the outbox?  I never clean my outbox.  That would explain the 135 it said I had when I first came on to this new site.

EDIT - Yep, ignore the second one.  It was my Outbox, not Inbox that I was getting the message for.  I should have read closer... [smiley=doh.gif]

That's exactly what happened to me!  How strange...

And Ivinia... I changed my account a few months ago - hence the "guest" status on some of my older posts...
