Status : Online		Well, the unthinkable has finally happened (again).

I booted up my computer last night and clicked on my profile. It gave me some kind of message like "We can't find your profile, so we'll give you a default one." This happened to me once before a long time ago, so I let it pretend I was a new person, and then I shut down the computer and started it up again.

When I went into my profile this time, it still had me pegged as a new user. That was not something that had happened before; it usually defaults back to my original profile (w/ background, documents, etc.). I started to get worried that perhaps I was now stuck in this new profile.

15 minutes ago I booted up the computer and clicked my profile, and I am back in the 'new' account. All my music, pictures, documents, favorites, etc. are gone. I am left with nothing but the usual assortment of programs (because my father also has a profile on this computer, but his is fine).

Although I'm expecting a negative response, are there any technical wizards out there who know if there's anything I can do?!?! If I lose all of my documents I will have a mental breakdown very soon.

Status : Online		You're using windows XP, right? I don't know how your profile could get lost, but I hope the folder wasn't deleted. To search for your old profile go to your local disk (C: ), then 'Documents and settings' and there should be several folders in there named after the profiles on your computer, see if there's a folder named after your profile there, if there is, all your documents should be there.
