Left-right-mouse buttons to move - no shift or whatever, because running is not an option, anyway - and A,D /left-right/ whatever it is for you to keep the balance. No third hand. I checked. :

btw, i just had the UNpleasure of seeing the game on ps2... one word: BARF! i think it's time for the good old ps2 to rest in peace (and finally start releasing all games on pc too >)... i also found using the gamepad way more uncomfortable than the kbd & mouse

I wanted to play this but I guess I can’t, not unless I learn to use my feet, too

I checked. There is key combo to run (right shift). I just played the demo about four times trying to get the hang of the controls. I was able to get out of the diner and run down the block across the street. My guess is that I could get out of the neighborhood without getting caught by getting into the cab. But when I walk up to the cab I can't get in. I must be moving the mouse wrong. Is it possible not to get caught?
A couple of questions. What does PAR mean in the controls option menu? How exactly are you supposed to move the mouse when you see the bouncing white ball at the top of the screen? Are you supposed to move it up/down, in a circle, or what?

@RobD I think you misinterpreted my comment. I know that you run with shift (left or right), but I was talking about the breathing sequence in which you won't be able to run, anyway.
@Tkamba You are a funny guy. Two 3rd person adventures right after you told us that you won't touch them.

Heck no. Haven't touched the game since. Been hooked on Voyage, Brothers in Arms, just finished Shadow Ops, and am working on my own titles. [smiley=devil_smiley_grintail.gif]

My first thought was just to get the hell out of there. How else would you play it. Trying to move the body or cleaning up the blood seems to me to be a waste of time. I was trying to figure out the controls anyway. My third time thru the scene I finally got out the bathroom door by moving the mouse up and down. I didn't see any other lines. And btw I did finally get into the taxi.
I still don't know what PAR means in the control menu. ???

Saying that, if you can get it for £20, it's worth every penny. It's a magnificent game which I've thoroughly enjoyed. One of the best I've played in a long, long time.

Physical Action Reaction (the "Dance Dance Revolution" bits). You can have the symbols, telling you what buttons to press, in the middle of the screen or at the bottom.

Ah, thanks for that. I wish there was something in the demo that would give me an idea of how that works. Or is there?
@Wolfboy Yeah, if it's short I think I'm going to wait. I can pick it up for about $31 here in the states but it's radically different than anything I've played. I love the cinematic feel to it though.

I know! But there's not much choice out on the shelfs lately other than 3rd persons, having played all the first persons available.
...well there's Traitor's Gate 2 I have loaded I can jump into. That and Lighthouse, Rama, Pilgrim, Secrets of Alumut, all sitting on my credenza unplayed
Guess I should play my inventory list first, eh?

No, they didn't put that in the demo. They should have done, considering how often you have to do it in the game.

In the library now...

I had trouble with climbing a pipe or something, because it went quite high up. I figured that you can do it best if you swoosh the mouse quickly over to the left or right and then just move it up in a slight curve without any regard for stopping precisely at the top of the curve until Lucas climbs a step. If you try to softly time the move you will most likely fail.
I think nobody will understand what I was just talking about.

Status : Online | Some suggestions on game control: I set the main navigation keys to WASD and the secondary to the arrow keys. During gameplay, my left hand stays on WASD while my right hand on the mouse. During the Dance Dance revolution sequence the right hand is able to move to the arrow keys quite easily since they are separated from other keys on the keyboard. I find this combination quite satisfying.
And indeed, once you've mastered the "dance dance revolution" there isn't much game left since the "adventure" elements are fairly easy, and therefore it's more a movie than a game. Still, a truely wonderful experience.

It gets an A- from me. Very groovy.

Status : Online | There's another very interesting thing about the game that I don't think I've ever seen before. The player makes decisions in real time based on knowledge that he normally wouldn't have in real life. For instance, after a certain length of time in the bathroom a small window inset appears and you will see the cop get up and walk down the aisle towards the bathroom door. This gives you the chance to drop whatever you're doing and leave immediately. Otherwise, you'll be caught.
The same thing happens once outside the diner. You hear the cop talking to the patrons and you know exactly when he calls for backup. So you know exactly how much time you have to get out of the area.
A very unusual design. [smiley=thumbup.gif]
