Status : Online | In my opinion, I would have thought that the text comments on the status of doors/drawers and the value of items in the house would have been phrased in the "present" tense . As in 'The door is locked', 'It is just some useless junk' Anyone else feel that way or is it just me?
No. Imagine it's a book. The text comments are the narrator: they're telling the details of a story, so everything is in past tense. The only thing in present tense is the spoken dialogue.
I know it's not the way it's usually done in adventure games, but in a way it makes more sense than the character walking around shouting "This door's locked!"
They did the same thing in the Broken Sword games (except George told the story out loud, not just in text) and I think it worked well.
...not to be confused with Keira Knightley

Wasn't that also the case for Runaway, or was it just the narration from Brian in between chapters? In other words, while you're playing him, were his comments in past or present tense?
I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.
