Do Gabe or Grace use the toilet in GK3?  I know you can look at the one in their hotel room bathroom, but I can't remember if they'll do anything with it or not.

I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

Hmm, I wonder how much longer this discussion will go on before someone drags Leisure Suit Larry into it...

...oops.

I think they say something like "I don't have to right now." or "Not right now."

Boy, that game doesn't know me at all.

Larry Laffer is just the guy you're looking for. He doesn't mind dropping his pants in public.

I get really annoyed watching toilet scenes in movies (Americans write these scenes far too often) so I sure as hell don't want to watch my damn avatar taking a pee..... geez.... I play these games to exercise my brain ...

I would also like to know when and how characters are going to the bathroom.

In the Pink Panther games he actually uses the bathroom.  Ahhhh, I loved those 2 games, wished they made more.

happy trails,

Carolyn

Authors describe people and their clothing to set the scene ... so you ( the reader) can get a visual of the people involved in the novel.  They can mention hair styles and make up as well.

Unless you read books that I avoid, there are no long paragraphs about "changing clothes", make-up, color of shoes or anything else thoughout the book. Once you are into the PLOT you care less whether the person washes daily, changes clothes, shaves, brushes their teeth, has a shower or anything else.

It IS entertainment, not real life .. and that's the way it should be.

All I'm saying is that in a book you can imagine them with different clothes each day, but it looks lazy in a game if a character wears the same set of clothes the entire game.

Clothes and toilets aside - which are more based on graphics capabilites and room for code. The clothes being that they would have had to film your character walking in the same paths several times with different clithes each time in Phantasmagoria. This would have added greatly to the amount of CDs it came on - which was already excessive and greatly added to the production costs.

I guess I can take the liberty of opening this up to all dates and not just 1998 and earlier.  Holes in AG plots to me meant where the story left something major unresolved, yet supposedly everything was wrapped up in the end.  Or even where the answer to a problem or issue went completely against the facts presented making the solution essentially impossible to be correct.

As an example, I'll throw out The Omega Stone.  In one part you use dynamite to blast some Easter Island statue.  Somehow destroying a world wonder to find a tunnel seemed to go completely against any reasonable logic - especially since it is all heavily based on archaeology.

ok, what about half of the "Black Mirror"? Or the ending of Still Life? There are such huge holes in these games, that any further talk about them is a  spoiler.

Are those really plot holes or just really bad endings?

Bad endings because they leave so many plot holes.

There were many holes in those games even if you don't consider the ending, like the cult in Still Life and the S&M club that seemed to hold many clues which were ignored.

In Black Mirror the holes are more related to the ending, but still, there was the curse which was behind the plot and wasn't explained, and how exactly were some of the victims killed.

This isn't really a plot hole but a character incongruency. In Syberia, Kate Walker was too prissy to pick up a dirty oar, so she made the retarded kid do it for her. Yet, she had no misgivings about searching a crypt shortly before. By the way, do lawyers normally go gravedigging without a warrant?

I think most holes in plots happen when you do things out of order and I always seem to do that when I play them without a walkthrough but I am still very happy when I don't have to use one. I have played through a lot of them a second time and found what I thought was a hole was not.
