At least one a week? Quigly said you are probably not doing anything else but playing, now I guess he - she - might have been right about that.
I don't even know the names of 468 adventure games. Woo!

| Deleted User | Thanks! I wish I would have played the first 2 weeks though. I would have gotten 130 pts or more probably.
I wouldn't doubt it! Since I never played a AG Trivia game before it took me 2-3 weeks before I became comfortable with it. I think I could have reached near 100. But I only own 198 games (oops 200 since I just got Myst 5 and Isles of Derek).
But I had a tremendous amount of fun with it and everybody that played were great. Thank you Aya!

As for your question of how I was able to get all those answers correct?
You might want to change your computer password... i new that message i got from spy sweeper "some big bad wolf is browsing your screenshot folders" meant smth!
Just kidding! You used a lot of Amiga games for the obscure games, and seeing as I used an Amiga for 7-8 years, I'm rather familiar with the games or at least the look of them. Even if I didn't remember the title, knowing the platform makes looking it up quite easy. but you managed to look them up, which means those games appear somewhere?! i mean, i would never expect to see arazok's tomb or demon's tomb anywhere!!!
As for the rest, I own 468 adventure games and try to (re)play at least one a week. In the last year and a half, my playlist was made up almost entirely of games you frequently used in the tourneys. It obviously helped. see? the tourneys inspired your playlist! now with 468 advs and 1 game a week you won't need to buy a new adventure for the next 9 years!!!

Especially the inventory items gave me seroius problems. I could recognize some, but I could not remember the game.

Just because 90% of my gaming time is devoted to the above-mentioned games, it doesn't mean I don't have other stuff in my closet (or on the desk, under the bed, in an armoire) and on my hard drive that I play.
Speaking of, I don't think I ever posted a picture of my gaming collection for a thread we had going awhile back.

Yeah, you should do that! I've been meaning to do that myself, but can't get my camera to work at the moment. If you start it, I'll put more effort in it as well.
Unless of course your collection is too overwhelming. I remember when Val posted pictures of her collection, my collection was just dwarfed by hers!

I think you would be equally surprised by what I DON'T have, than by what I do. I don't own a single LS Larry game for instance.

Arazok's Tomb has screenshots on the internet. Demon's Tomb you used in one of the first two weeks that I didn't participate in because I badly herniated a cervical disc into the nerve that controls my left arm, leaving me barely able to use it. Some epidurals and lots of drugs later I'm still far from perfect, but I can play games and stuff...
Anyway, my personal BS aside, I don't know if I would have guessed it in the tourney, but I own Demon's Tomb, and by coincidence scanned the front and back cover into my computer on Sunday. I also scanned in another Mastertronic release called Demon's Forge as well. I'm sick of the poor quality shots at Mobygames, et al., and am starting to scan in all my games. Not to mention that I own at least 50 games that aren't even on Mobygames... In fact, I just plain dislike Mobygames anyway.
Now with 468 advs and 1 game a week you won't need to buy a new adventure for the next 9 years!!!
Not true. I need to acquire EVERY adventure game ever made, even if I can't find time to play them all...
The sad thing is that 476 (I just received another batch of games) adventure games is just a drop in the bucket. I can hardly believe how many games there are that I don't own. The rough part is trying to get every release of a game as well, including the compilations it is in.
The most painful though is re-buying a game I already own and paying a high price essentially just for the box cover and the manual, etc. I have a lot of box-less games to replace that way.
I own 764 PC games total if you count other genres BTW. I'm hoping to hit 1000 by the end of next year. Some wholesale lots and some estate sale type stuff will hopefully get me there without having to bankrupt myself.
In fact, my boss overheard me talking about my game collection today and told me he has a bunch of games on 5.25" floppies, including some boxed Sierra and Infocom games that he is giving me for free. He was going to throw them in the trash!!! Hopefully I'll get lucky and there will be something interesting in there.

What Aya isn't telling you is that I didn't participate the first 13 weeks of that particular tournament... In fact, I haven't participated fully in any of the tourneys. I came VERY close on Trinity though.

BTW, if any of those Sierra games include an extra box sleeve for LB1, let me know. You never know when someone will have a box sleeve w/ no box or game. And somehow mine disappeared! But this was a LONG time ago, before I even knew (or cared) what a box sleeve was. :-/

A covers trivia would be cool, but I only just starting scanning a few days ago. The hard part is that I am trying to clean them up and remove every crease, rip and wear mark I can.
omg! where does your boss live??!
Well, he brought the first batch of games in for me and it was a box of about 80 floppies. All but one was pirated. :'(
It's actually pretty funny that it didn't occur to me that that could happen. The good part is that the one legit game was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure. It was the VGA version on 5.25" floppies. I don't own the game so that was good. He says he still has a bunch of boxed games to bring though, mostly Sierra and Dynamix. He says he is having trouble finding some of the disks, but I told him I would take the empty boxes if he couldn't find them...

I know what that is like. I've thrown so many (now) rare games out over the years that it makes me almost sick to think about it. Up until just a couple years ago, I used to just take the jewel cases out of the boxes and immediately throw the boxes in the trash.
Anyway, if I get the sleeve you mentioned, I'll let you know...
