yeah... not only did i think of Loom, i actually visualised the whole screen

Actually LOOM was the first adventure game I ever played, and that's not something you forget very soon. The audio tape was missing from the box, though. Does anyone remember what was on that tape? I've always wondered about that.

Unless my memory is faulty[1], the tape is a half-hour long radio drama telling the story of Bobbin's mother, her desire for a child, the Loom, and the resolution of said desire.

I think an mp3 is available from the Underdogs site, but I'm not sure.
