Just played this new under-promoted game from The Adventure company.  It's great.  Classics Adventure.

Sort of a blend of original Myst (in spirit) and RAMA (in inventiveness)
If you're looking for a great pure adventure, with good puzzles, wait no more!!  Run for this one.
Note:  timed puzzles are very forgiving, and not hard to get past once you understand how forgiving.
On the moon, it's all fantastic -- complex and compact (NO long travelling) just discovery and experiments.
wonderful game...

I saw it and didn't like the way the characters looked like on the box. Well, I'll give it a try and see if it's really a hidden gem

yes, the box is deceptively NOT attractive.  But most of the game is from your own eye-view, so very little view of the "french-type" artistry.
Just don't give up on the initial timed puzzles in the journey -- they are the only ones.
The game lets you keep any inventory on each restart. And when you figure out what triggered the timed sequences, you can just do a lot first to get you ready.
NO timed sequences for last 80-90% of game.

ANOTHER game to play - I've only got 20-30 waiting to be played!

This one does sound like a winner however!

I just may move it up on the list a bit!

on't have much time to play at the moment, and I'm stuck at the maths puzzles anyway,  :
so it will be some time before I finish it. Developer Kheops is a great addition to the mainstream AG scene! But of course there's still a lot of room for more innovative games. I don't want all of my adventures to be Myst-style or Kheops-style. Diversity rules!

I've never played Diversity. What are the rules?

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

That IS a bit strange though, isn't it. I had to die several times before I'd done everything that needed to be done. Don't like that.

The One and Only Rule:

Strolling through your favorite games store, you should be able to pick a Myst-like game set in lonely worlds from a shelf to your left, a six-pack of Nancy Drews to your right. Loads of humorous inventory- and dialogue-based point&clickers in the next aisle. A great selection of FMV games. Two isles with innovative and experimental adventures. An edutainment section. Bargain bins filled to the brim with the great classics...

Must say that it looks like a fair game. It is obviously made by the same crew as Return to Mysterious Island (same menu and interface).

The opening is a pretty intriguing starting point: you're in a spacecraft on your way to... where? Looks good. Thanks for the advice Corrigan2.

I wonder if it's point and click only ... or do you have to do some strange and mysterious things with your keyboard also.  Anyone know?
If it's point and click only, I'll try it.

Does it play like a slide show or is it free flowing 360?
I know ...  picky, picky, picky.

it's a 360 -- and all times puzzles can be redone very easily by left clicking -- which returns you to the moment the timer started (but with any new inventory items) you may have picked up in the last try.
It's a great interface.
