I just finished Post Mortem (played both endings - were there only two?)  I thought it was pretty good, but I have to admit, after all the build-up in the plot (especially in the "secret room"
I was a tad disappointed in the ending(s).  But still, a very enjoyable game... A few glitches and the non-linear approach didn't work perfectly sometimes, so overall, I give it a 7.

I'll give it a 6. The non-linear approach was interesting, but as you say, didn't work all that well. With a little tweaking it probably would have been a much better game.

"6' I finished the game, but only because I wanted to see the ending. The story was good, but I disliked many aspects of the game. I found the dialogue trees never had a response that I really would have used in that circumstance, so I was always guessing out of character. This really ruined the immersion for me. The characters had repetiive, jerky movements that made them very puppet like. There was also very few puzzles. I'm glad I tried it, but it was not the game for me.

It's a flawed game, but I liked it. I gave it an 8.
The plot is ok, the puzzles are not my type, but most of them are good (I disliked one puzzle near the end because it didn't have clear clues).
The animation and the dialogues are pretty bad, but at least the character design was alright.

What I really enjoyed was the voice acting. It was well done for most characters and made the bad dialogue sound better. This also helped make the characters more likeable.

The game has 3 or 4 endings (not sure), depending on whether you collect enough evidence for the police, and your final choice in the game.

Hm... the ending(s) I had didn't really have anything to do with the police, or the evidence... perhaps I'll consult some walkthroughs to see what I missed!  Thanks!

I just re-played Post Mortem and ealized that I liked it lot more after completing Still Life.  Somehow the connection within the two games made each of them more enjoyable.
My wife insists that this is a very strange idea.)

I enjoyed this game but still gave it a 6.  Too many areas where it could have been improved.  Puzzles being the main one.
ialogue the other.

I gave it a 6 too,  the voice acting alone knocked it down quite a bit for me.

I enjoyed playing this game too even there're some others i prefer. Actually i like Still Life better that Post Mortem, that one included two characters
. So, Post Mortem... I really have to say they did a great job with most of the dialogues! Game should always have a good story line and a dialoguer (or monologue) to go with it.
I agree with shed22 that after playing Still Life, you like Post Mortem even more.

I give it a 3.

Because, due to it being non-linear, there were some flaws that they obviously didn't anticipate. Like the fact that, for some reason, my character was discussing the 'Head of Baphomet' with his employee.... Before I'd even heard of the damn thing!
He also had a habbit of announcing to someone "I have some bad news... such-and-such has been murdered"... before he'd actually found out about it. For most of the second half of the game, I was convinced that Gus was the killer, because he knew that the hotel porter and the bar owner were killed before we'd even found out about the murder.

Just finished it, and I liked it. I'd give it a 7. The non-linear approach was certainly interesting, but, like said before, could have been better implemented, the main offender being the horrible dialogue trees. Gabriel Knight 3 for example pulled off similar ideas much, much better.  Still, the story was nice, the game featured some good voice acting and terrific atmosphere. While most of the game was really easy, there were luckily some puzzles that took me a bit longer to figure out. Overall, a good game with the, unfortunately not realised, potential to be a great game.

Deleted UserI didn't like it overall and liked Still Life even less. No wonder Microids went belly up. I don't like lazy writing that can't finish a story. Both games shortchanged the player by pulling the gaming rug out from under them with no explanation about who did the killing. Now I simply don't care.

I give it a three. It's one of the rare games I threw away when finished.
