The meanings of names are important but two are unchanged in this clue.

(p.s. what the hell are you talking about?)
My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my dog already thinks I am.&&&&The measure of civility in a society is not how it treats those that are loved, but how it treats those that are hated.

It's a proper old-fashioned riddle to find a real place. You might have to do a bit of searching round on the net to get some of the references. Wikipedia is a very useful site.
Another clue to help you along
This honey wine is really Adam's ale.

But what about "honey" and "stone"? Or some structure...perhaps limestone (honey-colored)? "Limestone cup" is a term used to describe the protective shell of corals. But that doesn't seem to be connected to this riddle...
Edit: Nah...I'm on the wrong track here. It's simpler. I'm thinking Red Canyon. There's a Red River there, there is lots of limestone, there's even a Lake Mead.

It's not the Red River - not in English anyway.

I alredy corrected my first try, but saying it's not Red River means that I'm still not even close... Well, what else could be found in North America? I guess French and Spanish. French is more likely, because of Canada, but there is/are Rio Rojo in North America as well. But that's just another name for Red River aka Colorado River...
"Adam's ale" is nothing more than "water" which means the "Mead Cup" could be Lake Mead (why it was stone, I don't know). "It" might be the Hoover Dam as that one is in fact slowing down Colorado River's "South West Drift" and it is located at Lake Mead. Any luck?
Some more: Lake Mead formed in consequence of the Hoover Dam which means it was stone before and then became the "Mead Cup". This site is quite useful (first google hit on Colorado River ).
And this: Hoover Dam was built by Six Companies, Inc in Black Canyon (Ebony Rift?).

It is the HOOVER DAM
Now, can you work out what all the references mean?
So far you have:
- Colorado River = Red current (it's called the Colorado at the Hoover Dam even if it might be called other things elsewhere. Colorado = red coloured)
- Lake Mead (the Hoover Dam "cups" Lake Mead - remember it's a poem a bit of metaphor is allowed)
Once you have the rest, Clue 2 will follow.

It's not Elwood Mead. It's more obvious than that (in an obscure way). It's also linked to the Stone reference.
What about the Six and the Ebony Rift?

Pass Over the Lip. Enter Another Zone = Driving over the dam you pass from Pacific Standard time zone (Nevada) to Mountain Standard time zone (Arizona). Or the other way depending on which way you are driving.
As I said before, the meaning of names is important (and their permanence or otherwise).

Which makes me think...probably "Once was Stone" means that the Hoover Dam was supposed to be built in Boulder (Stone) Canyon. Still missing the "Bright Army" part...

Stone is indeed Boulder but it's not to do with the Boulder Canyon. But you're close enough so I'll give that to you.
Once it Was Stone = President Roosevelt temporarily had it renamed the Boulder Dam (obviously he didn't like the person it was named after, who was...)

You must have mistaken me for someone else: perhaps you are speaking about Chris, my northern sibling. :
I guess Isle of the Dawn might be Japan, but that would be the extent of my guessing. The only thing of relevance I otherwise found was a roleplaying game set in the universe of Titan, with a Shrine of Hamaskis, a Warrior Priest, and an Isle of the Dawn... Don't ask.
