SS2 is listed but GK3 is listed twice as of this writing.

Regarding the poll (as it currently appears), I chose System Shock 2 even though it is a FPS-RPG not an adventure game. It's one of the scariest and best games ever made in any genre.

Cheers,  Terry

Well, SS2 is not an adventure, and Nemesis is not a horror, as much as GK3..

Anyway, I didn't see Shadow of the Comet on the list, so my choice "None of these"

hi guys . mine is by far silent hill 1 or more so 2. u should list all 4. Though 4 won't get sh|t

Also, i loved Clive Barker's 'Undying' for the PC, dated nowadays but very slick and creepy for its time.

Maybe not a horror adventure, but Post Mortem freaked me out when I played it at night. I'm such a wimp.

I am the lone (at this point) Gabriel Knight III voter.  This is one of my favourite games, although I myself wouldn't really classify it as a "horror" game, despite the presence of the Vampires; the game is mostly played out in the sunny hills of southern France and overall lacks the gripping, creepy atmosphere of say, the Darkfalls.  Or Delaware Saint John I, now that was one creepy game that had me gripping the Mouse so hard at several points I was afraid I was about to crush it; indeed, the creepiest game I've ever seen insofar as mood and atmosphere are concerned.

But Delaware isn't listed and if Gabriel Knight III is classified as a horror game, then I guess it's my favourite horror game.

I picked Shivers, not because I think it is the best for horror but because it is my favorite game of those listed.

Silent Hill 2 scared the *#!% out of me!! Definitely the number one horror game I've played so far. (What an ending, too!! I had to play most of the game with the volume off! [smiley=laughing.gif]

Deleted UserHmmm, the only ones that could logically take this poll are those that have played them all. It would be better to simply ask what each person's fav is.

I vote for GK2. Mostly because I loved the forest sequence. The first time I played it, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing on end. Magnificent use of tension

Silent hill scared the crap out of me, but I have to say I found myself a bit more creeped out playing Sanitarium.

Espically in the second part, where you're in the town with the "kids."

I have played that more than most of the games I have  mostly becuse my wife likes to play it with me.  I didn't pick it though, because I think it's more of a puzzle game than a horror adventure game.

What about "Shadows of darkness", the fourth game in the "QFG" series? It was pretty dark and had some horror elements (vampires, zombies, etc). I think it should be in the poll.

Since you listed silent hill, I'm surprised resident evil isn't in the list.

I haven't played any of those.  The scariest game I've played is Amber.
