Deleted UserJust finished this one and wanted to see what other people's views are. Personally, I was slightly disappointed with the game given the hype I'd heard about the series over the years. Yes, there was an interesting plotline, and yes, the graphics were pretty, but the game seemed remarkably empty for all its beautiful drawings. On most screens there were only a couple of objects to interact with, and the actual gameplay consisted mostly of talking to characters and showing them your entire inventory until something interesting happened. Worse, there are several action sequences which are preceded by long cutscenes, meaning that every time you die you must reload your saved game, watch the cutscene, and retry the action sequence. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

I complain, but for all my little annoyances I enjoyed playing Broken Sword enough to give it a 7. Without the action sequences, it could have been a solid 8.

I give at an 8. The graphics were eye-popping for the time I played it, and I enjoyed looking at the scenery of Paris so much.

The characters were so engaging, although I still cannot understand why George would want to get involved with investigationg  bombing. The puzzles were fair (except for the goat) and working out what to do without requiring help was greatly satisfying.

Always a game I will fondly remember.

A 10. Loved the dialogue and story. Great cinematic feel to the game. Can't complain about much except for the bit with the goat. And that didn't seem so bad after the relief I felt when I finally worked it out.

I gave it a 6 for many of the same reasons that Fickfack stated. I really disliked that every time you got a new piece of information, you had to go over all your inventory items with all the characters to see if something had changed. But, I liked it enough to play the sequel. The characters were well developed and likable.

I give it a 9, because I love the characters and the execution of the storyline. Some puzzles are not as good as others, but it makes up for it with the above mentioned points plus it's one of the longer games I played.

Easily, one of my top, top favourite games ever ! I loved it and BS2. Two of the very few games I would happily replay if I had the time. Easy '10' for me.

A 9.  The chesspiece scene with the Countess in Spain was particularly moving.  Great storytelling.

A solid 8 from me.

Gorgeous graphics, nicely developed and narrated story line, fun characters, it all added to an enjoyable gaming experience. I did suffer lots of crashes when I first played the game, but as I have yet to find someone who went through the same with this game, I blame it on my old computer. Replaying it years later on my new computer luckily worked just fine.

I'm the guy who gave it a 4. I really don't like this type of adventure game. I remember asking myself one hour into it, "where are the puzzles? Where is the challenge?!" All I was doing was cuing a series of long, lackluster conversations. Challenges eventually came in the form of pixel-hunts and exhaustive searching of the dialogue tree, which I find as fun as doing my taxes.
