| Deleted User | Hi Judy,
The Phantom of the Opera wasn't a big deal game. The graphics were relatively poor - even for the day that it was released. The story tracked the usual Phantom tales. And it was short. But I was on my game learning curve and it was a lot of fun at the time.
I think that some of the discount/discount/double discount places have it on occasion.

Status : Online | I never sell my old games. I know that when I become a pensioner I will start playing them again one by one...so that I feel younger again :-)
But I still have about 47 years till that so I guess I will have a lot of stuff to play when that time comes :-)

The 7th Guest Sam 'n' Max Myst Shivers
Some I've yet to re-purchase *sigh* :
Quantum Gate Critical Path GK series Both Phantasmagorias
A few others I can't remember at the moment.
Equally tormenting is the thought of games I missed the opportunity to buy when they were plentiful on retail shelves, like Neverhood and Phantasmagoria.

Status : Online | ohhh...I have Phantom of the Opera. It's not the original box but it's good. I remember when Circle of Blood (Broken Sword 1) came out. Soon they changed the name to BS, but I really like CoB. I guess they wanted it to match the second one so that they wouldn't loose fans.
One game I remember in the software store is Neverhood. I remember playing the demo and contemplating if I should buy it. Same with the Dark Eye, but I have that now. I remember Orion Burger demo and then I checked if I could get it online and I could have. I am really dumb for this but I never wanted to buy Grim Fandango because I was very unsure about the 3D Adventure game. I was scared that it was trying to be like Tomb Raider. Several of my friends had it with the box, but they threw the boxes away. I am looking on eBay though. hmmmmmmm

All for now.

Good game too. The ending was kind of unique for it's day. It ran out takes of the voice over actors... Very funny out takes.

Hey, I have Noctrop too and finished it. But I forgot about how it ended. Will you desribe it to me? All I remember is going into that pool and that buff babe in leather at the pool.

Status : Offline | In 1996 - I decided to clear out a bunch of old games. Sold them for about 10 to 15 a piece and thought that was great. Then about a year later I realized that games had an amazingly short life out there in retail. Ackkk I replaced most of them except for:
Celtica Blue Heat Cassandra Galleries
Games I passed repeatedly at Micro Center on weekly game buying forays and wish I had gotten
Dinotopia The Neverhood
I kept lingering at both of these, Loved the boxes - but there were so many to get and my son kept saying nah - lets get this instead. He was my gaming partner then - so I figured I would get them some other time. Oh well.

| Deleted User | How could I forget Gabriel Knight 1. That was a great game for it's day and I gave it away.
And I forgot about Noctropolis. I am not sure that it got one decent review but I enjoyed it. Just goes to show that there is at least one person (or a few people) for every game.
Another game that I traded away was the Riddle of Master Lu. Chips and Bits had it a month or two ago. I think that it was around $4.95.
Cassandra Galleries is really scarce. I saw one for sale recently for big bucks.
mszv: I agree that old games won't play (or are difficult to play) on the newer machines. What about saving your old computers. By the time they are obsolete you can't get much if you sell them.
I have my old 486 DX33 and my old Dell. They are both in the attic and I drag one of them down when I am in the mood for an old game. Even the thought of trying to adjust my current PC for DOS makes me shake. I like all of my settings just the way they are and I don't want to mess them all up.
I have seen a number of people buying back old models that they trashed years ago.

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

The ending was just that - out takes... Very funny mistakes with the voice overs in the game. And who could forget the pool... (well, I sure couldn't anyway - whew...)
I don't recall her wearing anything - maybe I had a different version?

As for selling games...not a chance (unless I happen to have a spare copy or something).
