I've just had a lot of fun playing this game.  I avoided playing it for a long time because of the amount of times you can die, but actually it wasn't so bad.  The puzzles were quite easy, but they were logical; I loved the puzzle where you have to fool the "five senses" gnomes.  The voice acting was very good and the conversations were funny.

The problems I had were that the story was quite basic (it was written by Jane Jensen--I was expecting a lot more), it was too short, and the ending was poor.  Also, the game didn't feel epic enough--it was just backwards and forwards between very few locations.

Still, I enjoyed it a lot and I give it an 8.
...not to be confused with Keira Knightley

From what he says, it seems that he went the short way; which is admittely not epic.

I gave it 9, my favorite king quest of all.

I only played KQ1, KQVGA and this one (hated KQ5 and stopped) and it's - in my memory - deserving a 9 from me. Perhaps that changes when I get to play it again.

Woops, seems like I didn't vote yet for this one.

King's Quest VI gets a solid 8 from me. Great gameplay and puzzles, fun characters, original locations, good writing and acting. Loved the different endings as well, next to the choice between an 'easy' and 'difficult' path through the game. Too bad the back story is not something more then your basic prince-rescues-princess story.
