I got a kick out of one review circa 1996 (as if every game then was compared to Myst which was number 1 on game seller lists): 'The game is swift, and rarely boring. There is so much to do, and so many people you need to talk to, that if you get stuck it's not because of bad programming (like in the case of Myst), it's you not talking to enough people. The game actually feels more like Shenmue or Flashback than it does Myst.'

The future ain't what it used to be!

It is usually played more kind of interactive story (though there are quite enough of interesting puzzles, including some detective work), but there're actually lots of things to do. It has some shooting moments, but it is actually a pure adventure, and a very good one. Remicent of Blade Runner, very beautiful (the mix of animation and comic stile is wonderful) and very entertaining. Oh, and the voice acting is very professionally made, I was nicely surprised Guess it has all rights to be called the best adventure ever on console market

And as Afex Tween said, the voices are the best ive ever heard in a game.
Another great thing about it, is that there is 8 remakes/ports to different consoles (Pc-8801, MSX2,pc engine, sega cd(my fav )mega cd, saturn, and playstation)

The plot is incredible and it reminds me a lot of the TEX MURPHY games, it's definitely better than Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum. You have a robot sidekick(called Metal Gear from the Metal Gear Solid series) that follows you everywhere and a vidphone(like TEX), it's really cool.
I was going to make a topic about it because I started playing friday and I enjoyed every single minute of it (about 10 hours) until I got STUCKED on the most EVIL arcade sequence I've ever experienced in an adventure game EVER right at the end of the game and I play shooters. I can't get past it, I can't find any cheats and you can't save after it so there is no saved game available. I heard the ending is shocking and long(20+ minutes)but I'm never going to see it, I gave up.
Follow the instructions on this link if you want to play it:

Status : Online | Yea that ending can be tricky at times, and beleive me you want to beat it. I honestly have never seen a better ending.
Through the course of playing out the game at different times, i have found that certain times the difficulty will change during shooting sequences. I wanted my friend who had never seen the game before to try and beat the ending by himself (of course i made a bet with him that there was no way for him beat it within a given amount of tries) But for some odd reason when he played the droids came out by singles and barely shot... he beat it the first time and thought he was the greatest...

I find that most people today are morons, only wanting killing and FPS's, so when i find some one whos into games, i feel its my duty to show them snatcher, so far all that ive shown have loved it and wanted there own copies.

For the emulation, your gona need this great emulator http://gens.consolemul.com/downloads.shtml
I thought i had a site for the Entire rom of the game but it turns out that i cant find it... but the Underdogs have it, some paysites, and its always nice to have your own copy.
For a great source of information, look no further... hmmm ok, heres the sites... Junkerhq.net-Probably the best Snatcher site, and boy is it great...
The Policenauts paradise and Snatcher Shrine http://community-2.webtv.net/LiquidSnake/ThePolicenauts/- Gives you everything that you didnt learn from Junkerhq
Another great site with loads of Information and a great interface-The Kremlin_ http://www.jjau.8m.com/kremlin/
ohhhh and sorry if you cant click the links, please check it out. It would be realy great if the adventure community saw how great the game realy was...
.........................EBAY!!!!! Do it
Just keep modifying, well i just wanted to say that if any body goes to these sites and realy gets into it so much that they themeselves need a copy then my best suggestion is... Get the sega cd version(Its in English, great Voice acting, and is the best place to start opposed from starting with the Japanese playstation version which sucks in comparison.

I still didn't beat the game! It's not humanly possible to finish the last shooting sequence with a keyboard, there was like 4-5 spiders at the same time, it goes so fast I was sweating. It's as if the developers had to include a challenge because the 3 or 4 arcade sequences were too easy and short. Isn't there a way to extract the last cutscene? I really want to see the ending >

The realy intresting thing about Snatcher and its ending is that the third act was never in the game until the pc engine version and sega cd version, and the sega cd version had that last sequence with the big ass spider bots that other versions did not, and if you would like to see the ending without beating them or you want to become invinsible then go to this site http://snatcher100.home.att.net/emu.html
I myself never used it on my computer so i stuck to the hard way.... WOW was it hard... holy crapo now that i think back i went through alot to beat that part.
After about 15 trys(estimated) i was sweating, frustrated, ready to brake sega cd,ect(i was pissed) After that i stopped for a while, brought my friend over and we took turns...still no luck... Then i pulled out my stress controller(Broken SNES controller that helped me get pass the floating continent during FF3/6) Ipunched it, threw it, kicked it then proceeded to bite it. Next step in my hellish cycle was the baby powder and flour stage with the constant lubrication of the middle of the thumb using my tongue. Just as i was about to crack i had what alchoholics call a moment of clarity, and i realized that i need to be patient and wait and it will come... it never came so i got pissed tryed realy hard and got it... that was such a waste of everyoones time but what the hell it was fun to tell some one...
Just as i was writing this, my new Snatcher just arrived in the mail...Hooray Rally Ho
Theres prob alot of typos but im not taking the time...

I must be blind! I did not see that cheating trainer on the website before. If you look at my first reply, I linked that site because I used these instructions to play Snatcher. I feel so stupid...anyway now everyone can enjoy Snatcher without all the frustration [smiley=hyper.gif]
