Phewee ! This was exactly my kinda game. I don't mind lots of dialogue. In fact I loved it in this game as I thought it was kinda good ! Can't say too much about it as most peops will have played it and I'll just be witterin' on, 'cept to say that 'Dreamfall' will have to be mighty good to equal it ! '10+' ! Okay . . . . '10'.

This is one of the few games I'll actually give a "10" to!
the other was Grim Fandango.)  Brilliant design, execution, plot, acting, and beautiful graphics... yay!

I give it an 8. Although the worlds were great to explore (Arcadia more than Stark which seemed to be underdeveloped) the story was rather derivative.

Likable characters and quite a triumph for a country not previously regarded as a producer of adventure games.

'8'
I really got caught up in the story. The dialogue didn't bother me too much, and though some of the inventory based puzzles were a little far fetched, there was always lots to do.

Currently I give it a 9, although I'm thinking about it...might be overrated in memory and influenced by all the buzz around it. I remember some parts in the game to be very linear and lacking in puzzles and overall the game felt systematic, if you know what I mean. Talk, talk, do something, talk again, do another thing, come back to talk some more. It's just that the story was good enough to listen to all that talk.

Deleted User9. An excellent game all around, which did almost everything well. The plot and characters, despite what people say, were almost completely unoriginal, the dialogues were too long, and there were a few silly puzzles, but overall I had little to complain about, especially given the length of the game.

Still working on it, and I'm conflicted about it much in the same I was about Syberia. Part me is getting drawn into the epic quality of the game, part of me grumbles at how the game wavers between being simple or obtuse in a silly way (rubber duck puzzle, or Constable Guybrush puzzle). Don't care for mindlessly clicking through that dialogue, but I'm finding the info kind of interesting in supplying backstory. Maybe they should have used the diary format more?

Anyway, I'll have to see how it plays out to really decide about it.

.

Another 9 from me for many of the same reasons I gave Syberia the same score. TLJ is a highly polished piece from beginning to end with only a few small flaws that keep it from being a perfect 10.

I loved the story and characters, the very well voiced dialog, the gorgeous artwork and most of the puzzles. I also enjoyed the fact that it contained a little profanity and a few frank sexual references in that it was entirely appropriate for the character/s and circumstances at the time. However none of it was overt or would be considered offensive to a normal mature adult.

Cheers,  Terry

I gave it a 0 because it had a lesbian in it!!!!!!!

Actually I gave it an 8.  It was good to start, but I got bored and used a walkthrough just to get it finished.  I was hammering the Escape key to get through those mind-numbing conversations.  The ending was a stupid deus ex machina.  But...the puzzles were good (I did the rubber duck thing by myself!), the voice acting was good and I suppose the graphics were very good for the time.
...not to be confused with Keira Knightley

10.

The best game since Grim Fandango.

Epic story, puzzles that fit with the game, nice graphics, well-witten and well-spoken dialogue (I wanted MORE dialogue
), and with the length of the game, you certainly get your money's worth.

This game has it all!

I've posted my thoughts on the game here.

Looking at it from the gameplay standpoint, it deserves about a 4. But taking into consideration how much the incredible environments of the game drew me in along with the breathtaking scope of the game, I'm willing to overlook that in a similar way I did with Syberia. I'll give it an 8.

Deleted UserI gave it a 10. I'm not blind to a few flaws, but if I have to wait for something that is less flawed I'll never get to give a 10. Great mix of science-fiction and fantasy in a compelling story with puzzles of the right kind.
