Deleted UserOMG! We've found at least three snakes (one dead) near our house on the last couple of days. I really am concerened about our dog, as she doesn't like being inside, and it practically outside the whole time. We think we heard her bark a few times, and we're sure she encountered a snake (or few of them). This is really annoying, I knew we shouldn't have moved in the middle of no-where.

What's worse, my father is certain they are poisonous/venomous snakes, and according to what I remember about snkaes way back from kindergarten, he's correct. The colours, shape of head, texture. It seems like some sort of a raid of snakes in the area. And, of course, our holiday abroad was postponed (Besides, I really don't want to leave our dog alone in a situation like this.

Eww!  I hope your dog is OK and stays away from them.  You said she doesn't like being inside, but since there seems to be snakes in the area at the moment, maybe you could keep her in for a little while at a time & let her out when someone can also be out to keep an eye on things.

I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

I hope the dog has enough sense to keep away from the snakes.  And I hope your holiday goes ahead.  Is it postponed till later in the summer or just cancelled altogether?   I was rather looking forward to hearing what sites you'd visited.

Deleted UserSee Parrot, even Indiana Jones hates them!

Caroline, I'm sure it was merely postponed, not cancelled altogether. Maybe I'll even have pictures, but we have to get there, first!

There's a boa constrictor somewhere in the woods at the back of my house. We found it one day on the stairs with his belly very big. Now, I hope he/she goes somwhere else so that I won't get eaten.

Well, I hope your dog will be fine.

Cats can handle snakes.  At least my cats have been able to.  I remember one particular cat that wasn't particularly large but would routinely bring us gifts of headless snakes.  Such a kind feline.

Dogs are wimpy.  Cats eat snakes.

Or go fishing. - MI2 &&Okay.   - Me

Wow Mike, that's really a brave cat!

Now I remember why Indiana Jones didn't like snakes. I asked my hubby why
