Unfortunately, I just can't give this question a straight answer after that, but I am curious as to the answer.
This week, I have been mostly playing

Tis true, subtlety isn't one of my best traits.

Yep, an American question but will do an 'out of the USA' question if you want but geography. I am lucky to find my way home. Maybe history?

Maybe history? Gayle, I don't think the complaint was so much about the question pertaining to US of A. But you might be astounded by the percentage of world's population that doesn't even know what Twinkies are (or that they exist at all).
I forgot my sig.

Well, Twinkies are these long, rounded edged rectangle sponge cake things with vanilla cream inside. I don't think I have had one since I was 6 or 7. Apparently, they are still big sellers here, millions sold every year.
They were started in Chicago in the 30's during the USA depression. The man who started the company wanted a cheap treat for all the out of work masses so he sold two Twinkies for 5 cents. They were first filled with banana filling but it was changed to vanilla filling during WWII because it was difficult for the USA to get bananas.
There was even a trial where the defendant proclaimed a Twinkie defense for his crime.
