(Wolfboy, she sent you Syberia 2 via PM? Or am I misunderstanding, as always).

Isn't that really a measure of what someone's life is worth- how much they moved people around them! Not to mention the effect of Anne on people who never actually met her in person!

The future ain't what it used to be!

After missing this thread earlier today, it was with a heavy heart that I just now read Val's post about Anne in the main AG forum.
To her family and friends, please accept my belated but sincere condolences and know that there is yet another JA+ forum member who will miss her candor, her good natured humor and her genuine enthusiasm for the common thread we all share here - adventure games.
She will be remembered fondly and with respect by many people in this community from all around the world.
Best Wishes, Terry

Status : Offline | I'm shocked and saddened by Anne's death. It's hard to find words at a time like this, in fact the only reason I even knew Anne had passed away was because someone who used to belong to this forum some time ago emailed me this morning with the sad news. I had an idea that she had some health problems but didn't realise how bad they must have been. Although I didn't know Anne well, there always seemed to be something indefinably special about her, I loved some of her rather cryptic comments (even if I didn't always understand them!) and I'm sure she never had a mean bone in her body.
To all Anne's family and friends my condolences on loosing a very special lady and someone obviously loved by everyone on this forum.

Rest In Peace, Beautiful Anne. Have fun in Arcadia.

I’ll be the first to admit that it’ll be quite sad reading past threads containing Annes’ comments. This sadness however will be overcome knowing that these same threads will become her legacy to us.

Many thanks for all the kind words. Anne's death came as a deep shock to us, as it must have done to you all. As a 'silver surfer' Anne spent many hours on the Internet and playing computer games. I know she really enjoyed the Just Adventure website and forum community and made many new friends here from around the world.
She leaves behind a son and daughter who will deeply miss her. Her funeral takes place on Monday 23rd, donations, if desired to British Heart Foundation (or simular charity in your country).
All posts here will be printed off and shown to family and friends at the gathering after her funeral.
Kindest Regards to all her friends
Richard and Carolyn (Anne's Son and daughter)
(more personal messages can be sent to: richard dot stemp at gmail dot com)
Below is one of her favourite poems, that shows just a little of her character.
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me, And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells And run my stick along the public railings And make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain And pick the flowers in other people's gardens And learn to spit. You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat And eat three pounds of sausages at a go Or only bread and a pickle for a week And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes. But now we must have clothes that keep us dry And pay our rent and not swear in the street. And set a good example for the children. We will have friends to dinner and read the papers. But maybe I ought to practice a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised When suddenly I am old and start to wear purple. ~ Jenny Joseph ~

| Deleted User | I was so saddened on reading about Anne's untimely death that I felt I had to re-register to say how much I will miss her amusing "one-liners" and to pass on my sincere condolences to her family. She was a lovely lady. You will be missed by many, many people you never ever met, dear Anne. Rest in Peace.

Status : Offline | Thank you Kathleen and avro for sending us news on Anne's family. Anne's passing must have been a great shock to her family and friends. It's good to hear that these messages bring some comfort to them, all be it a small one. I only wish there was more we could do for them.
And that poem put a smile on my face. It's just so typically Anne. I can see why she loved it so much.

| Deleted User | The poem by Jenny Joseph is a one that I knew for a long time. It appears in an anthology we have.
The poem itself is just so humourous, the title together with the content just crack me up. "Warning". Simply brilliant, and that's a great aspect of Anne.

I just saw this thread (been away for a while), and I can't belive it!
Anne.... :'( :'( :'( :-* May you find peace, wherever you are.
I'll miss her presence here very much. For me, she was the most stable thing on these forums, and to see her disapear like that, without any chance to come back...
I'll miss you Anne :'(
Do go on! I always yawn, when I'm fascinated!

| Deleted User | There's something I've got to tell you.
This week, I've been seeing butterflies everywhere. In different contexts, unexpected, and every single day. I don't know... Maybe it's just that you take special notice of something like that, but it still striked me as kind of remarkable. It always reminded me of this sad thing, but it brought back good memories. When it happened again yesterday as I least expected it, it kind of made me feel... happy. It was a good feeling anyway. It made me smile for a long time.
Like I guess it was with most of you, it came as a surprise how emotional an event like this would turn out to be. To think that casual communication through the written word, not even in real-time, is enough to tie people together like this!
I'm also sure you agree with me that these threads that we have made for Anne belong in the JA Forum Archive!

| Deleted User | What news to come back to after an absence from the forum. Anne, you will be missed. Anne was a brilliant person, incredibly knowledgeable, witty and opinionated, and her posts added so much to this forum. Although I had relatively little personal contact with Anne, I felt like I knew her through her comments here at JA+ over the years. My condolences to her family and friends.

They had some trinkets, Boyd's Bears, & gift-y items. What I noticed was a whole section filled with various items devoted to wearing purple with a red hat. They even had a red hat & a purple feathery boa. Even a Boyd's Bear was dressed in purple with a red hat. I couldn't help but think of Anne & her favorite poem.

Status : Online | Just saw the awful news :'(. I will miss Anne deeply. Anne is one of those people who made a difference on this forum. You just would have wanted her to reach an age of at least 150 because you just can´t imagine this JA-world without her and her wit. I can´t even begin to imagine how her family and friends must feel who had her around in (a more) real life. My deepest condolences to all of you. I wish you all the strength in the world to try and cope with this terrible loss.
It makes me smile though to see she brought smiles to so many different faces all around the world .
