I didn't know her very long at all but we got along well very quickly.
(And she never did get the chance to play the first 2 Gabriel Knight games!)

When I read the title, I thought it might be about an argument causing her to leave. Now I only wish it only been something like that rather than this.
A part of our forum is gone and will never be quite the same. She will be missed.

That's just so sad to hear! I still can't believe what I'm reading. :'(
Even though you don't really know each other when you only meet online like this, in some ways you do get to know each other very well, in ways you often don't do in real life.
Anne was always honest about her opinions and shared her wisdom with everyone here, always with a good sense of humor and self-distance. A personality most of us (yours truly certainly included) had a lot to learn from.
I don't know what else to say... Words easily get meaningless in these situations. Wherever she is now there must be plenty of adventure games to play on flawlessly working PC's as often as she wants.
See you, butterfly!

Status : Offline | You mean, our Anne?- Our Anne that never would put a space after a sentence period?
- Our Anne that told me my new computer looked like a baby Dalek?
- Our Anne that told me my avatar needed a serious haircut?
- Our beloved Anne that said that out of all the female lead Adventure Game characters, she would like to be like Grace, April Ryan, and Kate Walker?
- Our dear, dear, Anne, that placed under her beautiful avatar, "Love is like a butterfly"?
Everytime I now see a butterfly, it will be Anne. She will always be beautiful, and also with us - in our hearts. If there is anything that I can personally do, please let me know. This is so sudden. :'(
Thank you, Caroline, for letting us know the sad news, and for your heart-felt eulogy to our lovely and beautiful butterfly - Anne.
Please proofread your posts carefully to see if you any words out.

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

I cannot believe what I'm reading... no more smiling and wondering what she was talking about in her posts... no more mis-spaced sentences... :'(
We can be heroes, just for one day.

If not, that's OK, too. Caroline placed it in the Forum she thought was best.

Sometimes it seemed as if Anne & I were members of some dysfunctional family, one minute joking together, at other times squabbling over some silly thing, but overall I liked & respected her. As recently as May 2nd, in her own unique way she pm'd me to thank me for something I'd said on the forum. You never really know how much you just assume people are going to be around forever and then when they're gone, you wish you'd said some things to them that you'll now never get to say.

The future ain't what it used to be!

When I received my first package from her marked “Royal Mail” no less, she enclosed a card that said simply, “To keep you busy until Rich gets home” and included a game. She was the only woman I knew that had a passion for Formula One racing, which she shared with her grandson. Her spunky and assertive way of expressing herself here and at the old Syberia forum gave me many laughs.
My sincere condolences to her soul mate and family.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!!!

I thought about what it would be like if a member passes away...it's really quite strange if that happens. :-/

She was a very very nice lady and the last nicest thing she did was wanting to send me a book about cat poetry. :'( I said to her, why don't you give me your address Anne, so that I can send you some souvenirs from my country but she said you don't need to cause I always give my books away since there's too many of them already.
I'll always remember her. When she gives me some useful advices, she was always right.
Condolences to her family and friends...

She really loved this place and she loved the people here. I know her last week was spent battling severe pain but she and I had a lot of laughs last week. She was in great form.

I wish I knew about her passion for Formula One, because I too have similar passion and I'm sure we could have had a great time discussing the state of play.
We miss you already Anne...
