This is a game I've been longing to play since quite some time ago. As far as I know, it's one of the most unique adventures with a thought-provoking and unforgettable storyline. Even better, its setting is a post-apocalyptic world (which makes it a must-play for me
).

Far away from the Gulf crisis, oblivious to the uproar of current affairs, four people stand over the inert body of an eleven year old boy.

First there had been the nightmares, the visions, shattering his life. They had watched, not understanding, as he had become gradually more and more withdrawn. And now, finally, this. Robin had entered a trance from which he was unable to wake. His mind had wandered too far, beyond even their reach. They were all involved in parapsychological research, but none of them had seen anything like this before.

And Robin's mind, lost somewhere ... how was he going to return?

The Spectrum version (as well as an emulator to play it on if you don't have one already is at

www.worldofspectrum.org

there's also a copy of the ST version at

www.blimey.strayduck.com/automation.htm

(it's on disk 149), and emulators at

I searched on eBay, UGTZ and C.E. Forman's site with no luck - it seems this is a very hard to find game.
The only chance of playing it (unless it shows up someday at eBay) is using an emulator like Resonate said or getting the PC version at Underdogs.

I didn't even know that a PC version existed, at all! I'll have to go check that one out.

By the way, have any of the Delta 4 adventures been ported to the PC, as well? More a curiousity thing than anything else, this.

I've had a spare copy at one point, and have even seen a PC version on eBay once, so it'll turn up eventually.  You'll probably have better luck checking eBay U.K.  It's worth it to own the original package because of the accompanying novel and poster inside.

Mindfighter is pretty uncommon, but not as rare as the other games by Abstract Concepts (the publisher, actually a label of Delta 4).  Parsian Knights and Goodbye Cruel World are exceptionally difficult finds.

BTW, I'm quite certain none of the Delta 4 titles (Bored of the Rings, Colour of Magic) were ported to PC from the Spectrum.  A few made it to Amstrad and Commodore 64.

If you ever come across another Mindfighter copy, please let us know! Have you played it?

I heard about Parsian Knights and Goodbye Cruel World but I never found info about them on the net.
