First off I want to say I am not really a fan of fighting games.  But I do like to read about them and sometimes play them.  I often wonder about this and want to know what other people think.  Why is it there are no fighting games with DC Comics comic book characters?  For years now Capcom has the liscense to make 2d fighting games with Marvel Comics characters and are making a fortune with it.  I believe Activision has the rights to X-men and have made some average fighting games with it.  Wouldn't be fun to see DC characters in a fighting game.  I know there was a DC fighting game on the Super NES but I hear it was crap.  If it were to happen I would prefer to see it in a 2d setting and Capcom making it.  With the VS. series, Capcom could easily make a DC vs. Marvel crossover like the special comic book back in the 1990's.  What do you think?

Well, I think it's easier with Marvel because you've got all the X-Men to choose from, as well as Spiderman, etc.  But with DC, it's just, what... Batman and Superman? (I'm not into comics, so there's probably others I don't know about).

Thanks to the power of Google, I have now!

It reminds me of one of those reality TV shows with Z-list celebrities.

Hawkgirl?
id they just pick a random animal and stick -girl on the end? ???

Amazo--bet he turned out to be quite disappointing.

J'onn J'onzz?  So it's just "John Jones", basically, then?

And my favourite one: Ultra-Humanite!
A brilliant scientist who transplanted his over-sized brain into the body of an albino gorilla.

I never heard of the "Ultra-humanite" before.
But thanks to Google I have now.
Apparently he is one of the "super villains."

The usual Justice League characters, besides Superman and Batman, include Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and J'onn J'onzz (who is green). Here's a website with more information
http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/jla.html

There are other DC characters listed on that page too, like "Nightwing" who was the "Robin" who hung out with Batman before he grew up.

Here's a website which describes an "interesting" supervillain team - Monsieur Mallah and the Brain - also DC creations

Wow.  I've got to start reading comic books!

Formerly an uncivilized brute of an ape, brain took him under his wing and taught him to speak, to read philosophy, to play chess… and to fire a MACHINE GUN.

Hang on...it's no problem to teach a gorilla to talk, but it's absolutely amazing to teach it to shoot a gun?

Oh, well.  I'm off to write a theme tune.

Monsieur Mallah,
What a fella,
An educated French gorilla.
And the Brain,
With no name,
Having no limbs must be a pain.

I'm showing my geekish roots here (:-[), but there actually is a DC comics fighting game.

It's called Justice League Task Force, and it came out for the Sega Genesis.

Opinion on it seems to be split.  I don't yet have it in my Genesis collection, so I can't comment on how well it plays.

edit:  I almost forgot about Teen Titans Battle Blitz:  http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/games/action/teentitans/battleblitz/

Heh...Monsieur Mallah...I remember seeing him in the Teen Titan books. Part of a group of villains who called themselves The Brotherhood of Evil. They were quite creepy.

That is a weird picture. Looks like Superman let his hair grow.
(How do you cut superhair anyway? With kryptonite scissors?)
