Status : Offline | My regular hairstylist and the one I saw on Sunday have both told me that I have thick hair. So when it gets too long and heavy it just hangs close to my head and looks icky. The perm that is supposed to give it more body adds curl but the hair still hangs. I found myself combing my long bangs to the side and spraying them with spritz (more hold than regular hairspray) and pulling some of it back on each side with barrettes. Using a comb later in the day would fluff it out a little, but not by much. Too short to pull back in a ponytail, but long enough to be annoying.
To answer Eva's question about whether or not it is more work, people are supposed to be getting their hair trimmed regularly to get rid of split ends and such. And related to the troubles in my earlier paragraph, I haven't had to worry about any of that since getting it cut. More work indeed. : I have wondered what it would be like if I let my hair get longer (below my shoulders), except I attempted that back in high school. I still kept getting my hair permed and instead of nice, wavy, movie star hair it just looked frizzy. Blah.
I also echo the frustration with having an independent-thinking hairstylist. A few years ago, the one I saw regularly suggested that I grow out some of the bangs on each side. So after a month or two of them slowly growing out, she cuts them off! I think she was also wary of what would happen if my hair got cut too short, so she wouldn't do it. Also, my mom always told me to tell her to even it up in the back, which I did, but the stylist would always leave my hair longer.  I think secretly my mom wanted my hair to look just like hers, so we'd have matching mother/daughter hair or something.)
I was more than ready to visit somebody else and just have something different done. A regular stylist is nice because they know your hair and know what you usually want done with it. But at the same time, they think they know what's best for your hair and aren't always listening to what you say you want done with it.

Status : Offline | Hey Susan, I did. I know what you mean, short is just easier, I used to have really long hair like most women, but as I got older started cutting it and then kind of became addicted, I am always trying new cuts, I know sometimes women think they look younger with long hair but mostly, they dont, it just kind of drags you down, I mean a little long is one thing, like maybe to the shoulder but even then, reminds me of a crazy witch if it isnt always kept up and thats not always easy to do, thats about as long as I let mine get nowadays, but my most recent cut is kind of short and sassy, I like it, drys quick, spritz it up a little for a little spikey look and Im ready to go. I also went pretty blonde, though I am always blonde, this time around I went much lighter, I just like to change,( the hubby likes the changes too ) thinking my next thing might be some red highlights, who knows, I just think its fun to try different looks

Status : Online | I keep mine long, partly because I prefer it that way, and partly because I'm too cheap to spend a lot of money on hair. Oh, and I'm lazy, too .
My hair is naturally curly, so if I keep it short, it's all over the place. I have to keep it longer so the weight will keep it from being too "big". I haven't used a hair dryer in 10 years....I just wash it and let it air dry. For work, I get really lazy and just wash it, then leave a ton of conditioner on it and wear it up in a bun.  The last time I stopped by work with my hair down, none of my patients even knew who I was! )
As for highlights, I just spend about an hour in the sun, and I immediately start turning into a redhead! I figure I'll have to start worrying about grey hairs soon enough.... so I'm going to avoid coloring it for as long as possible.

Well, that's true but I meant on a daily basis, it's more work. Long hair you can just put in a ponytail and be done with it. If you have short hair you have to do stuff with it. Use products every day. My hair is basically just long because I don't really care. I can almost sit on it. I guess I should try something new...I'm just lazy.

The miniskirt and stiletto's don't sound like a bad idea, though.

Be careful of what you wish for, lest you find yourself with a lady having a stiletto... in her hand, of course; that stiletto could be a small dagger instead of being heels.

Mini skirts are attention drawers, stiletto heels just a trick to make the legs look longer. I dislike them both And I'm not into sizes, but whatever stereotypical size you just threw at me, I don't like it

More specifically, Google seems to hink UK size is equal to US size +2 for clothes. Don't quote me on that though.

Status : Online | OK, I'm hugely confused. ???
I've also found sites that claim UK sizes are 2, 4 or 6 bigger than US sizes.
So, American girls: 2 of my friends wear a UK size 8. They are about 5'2 tall, small framed and weigh (I'd guess) 100-110 pounds. What size would this be in the US?

I have no reason to lie...in fact, if I was going to, I would have said the size I want to be instead of the size I am. I weight 98 pounds, and my boyfriend weighs 115 pounds. We try not to go out alone at night.....

I find that clothes that are made overseas tend to be smaller in measurement and I have to buy a larger size. So a small size here is probably a large size overseas. Shoes are always the same size - 6 1/2... every time ... no matter what country it's made in.
And I'm not cutting my hair this weekend either. LOL

Attractive a couple as you and Chris may be Michelle, I think you both could stand to eat several dozen super-sized chicken fried steaks with heaps of homemade mashed potatoes, a gallon or two of extra heavy cream gravy, a truckload of generously buttered biscuits, a commercial bakery slab of southern-style cornbread, all the banana splits you want for dessert and plenty of triple scoop, ultra biggie milkshakes to wash it all down.
And no fair exercising after dinner, it's nap time for you two and I'll hear no arguments about it.
Cheers, Terry

I very much doubt that. A size 6 ½ in the US, for instance, would be a size 35 in Denmark...
