That error you are getting looks like a Quicktime conflict.  id you COMPLETELY remove ALL Quicktime files from your system before installing the version from the Amber CD? I know first-hand that Quicktime versions are not compatible with each other at all - it reeks havoc!

I tried VDMS but no good. thanx! i don't remember if Larry7 is dos or windows but if it's dos then you could probably just delete its folder w/o having to uninstall anything else... or could it be that you reinstalled windows after having installed L7? if so then it won't appear on add/remove prgs and again just deleting its folder will be enough
dual booting means you can boot from different o/s's (usually it's Win98/XP)... this is the best way for XP users to run old games, after of course having an old pc around... in order to do that your hd must have more than 1 partitions or you must have 2 hds (i recommend the latter)... if you install Win98 on the boot partition/hd and then install XP on another partition/hd, XP will create a menu that will appear each time you boot allowing you to select which o/s you want... there are other ways of creating dual boot of course but this is the most simple

thank you, Aya Brea. yes, i have a dual boot (xp-e drive & me-c drive) system, but seems to me the winme are no good for some old games, is that possible to get rid of winme (change to win98 or win98se) without touching winxp? thanx!

my personal opinion is that ME is the most useless o/s ever created... but there are some ppl that say it's good for old games! : as for your question, if you have 2 hds and you're dual-booting from bios then you can just format c: and install win98(se preferably)... this will of course affect all the prgs and games that were installed from ME but won't affect anything that was installed from XP (unless it was installed in c: which is less than likely)... but if you have a menu dual boot created by XP i think you can't replace ME without having to reinstall XP... but i'm not 100% sure about that

VDMS is for DOS programs. Amber is a Windows product, you won't achieve anything with VDMS there. Same goes for Larry 7 by the way.
